In this case, please speak directly with the team about your situation. In exceptional circumstances, and at our discretion, MYCT may consider alternative resolutions.

Health and safety - Will my child be safe?
The safety of the children in our care is of paramount importance to us. All of our activities have been fully risk assessed and we have a high staff to participant ratio (usually 1:8). We are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (A.A.L.S), and our staff team is fully trained to run the activities that we provide. Copies of our licence, risk assessments, and policies are available at thecentre on request.

Are all of your staff DBS checked?

Yes, all staff working with your child will beDBS checked (Disclosure Barring Service).

What should my child wear?

Your child will be taking part in outdoor activities so they should bring clothes they don’t mind getting dirty and preferably trainers for footwear.

Do you provide waterproof clothing?

We have a number of waterproof jackets and trousers on site, but cannot guarantee that we have enough for everyone. We recommend that all children attending bring a light rain jacket with them, just in case.

What if the weather is not suitable?

There’s no such thing! In the event of foul weather, we have a comprehensive list of rainy day activities.

Is previous experience necessary for some of your more specialised activities?

No previous experience is necessary. Our staff team is fully qualified through UK National Governing Bodies and in - house training and they will be able to make sure everyone is learning whilst having loads of fun! We have been operating for 30 years and the vast majority of the many thousands of youngsters who have attended have participated in all the activities. We will always encourage participation but we will never force any young person to participate in anything that they are unwilling to.

What provisions are made if my child has either a mental or physical disability?

We will do our best to accommodate all children, but please beware that we are not a specialist care provider and as such, there is limited scope to what we can offer to those with certain physical/mental ailments. If you would like to discuss the suitability of our activity days before booking then please contact us on 0151 428 9758.

Are children allowed mobile phones?

Yes children can bring mobile phones for emergency use and lunch time breaks. They should not be using their phones to play games throughout the day.

How do I drop my child off?

The park is accessible by car from the Woolton road entrance. There are no parking facilities available, however you can drive into the park where there will be one of our staff members waiting to meet and greet you and your child. We are situated in the old stable block just after the turning circle, approximately 300 metres from the road entrance. Please note that there is a 5 mph speed restriction in the park.

What if I’m late?

If you are going to be late, please call the centre as soon as it becomes apparent and let one of our staff members know. We are aware that this is a possibility and will endeavour to accommodate problems if they arise, but please note that if you are going to be more than 30 minutes late for pick up at the end of the day then we ask that you make alternative arrangements to collect your child from the centre.
