HEADLICE

An occurrence of head lice has been reported in school this week. I would like to remind you all how important it is to use the head lice comb on a weekly basis to ensure that your child’s hair remains free from lice. If all parents remember to do this we have a chance to keep outbreaks to a minimum. If live lice are found in your child’s hair all family members must have their hair checked. Could I also remind parents that once the live lice have been removed from your child’s head it is not necessary to keep them at home.

We have also been advised by a parent that a number of local pharmacies are taking part in the minor ailments service, which provides free headlice treatment for children under 8 years old.
