Format: You are required to submit only two diagrams and one use case description for this deliverable. Each diagram should be contained in a single page. You may use an additional sheet to describe your assumptions (if any). However, try and have all your diagrams be as self-explanatory as possible. You may use MS power point, MS Visio etc. to draw your figures, but please use the notation shown in class only. For your submission, you may copy and paste the diagrams into a word or pdf document

DELIVERABLE #4 – USE CASE

(1) Based on the information provided below, draw the use case diagram for the new Information System for

Apartments4U. Your diagram should clearly indicate and label the subject boundary, the different actors, the use

cases and any associations that you wish to include.

The manager of the apartment complex requires that the new system record all the data for the following

workflows:

(a) Process Application – records the details of the application (e.g., type of apartment, duration etc.), potential

tenant information, tenant screening and background processing.

(b) Create New Lease – record or update tenant information, lease details and apartment condition

(c) Maintenance Requests – manage maintenance requests, including recording new requests, calls to pest-control,

cable/telephone/gas/electric companies, assigning the work to the maintenance crew and maintain the crew’s

work-schedules and other details

(d) Close Lease– record of the maintenance, condition and clean up etc. (more details below).

(2) Complete the description for the “Close Lease” use case that includes all the information as shown in the Library

example shown below. Draw an activity diagram for this process as well.

After the lease for a particular apartment expires and the tenants move out, the following maintenance activities are

performed on each apartment: (1) The condition of every item in the apartment (e.g., appliance, carpeting, paint, doors,

cabinets, wardrobe etc., _ is evaluated as excellent, good, ok, poor, missing. (2) The log of the maintenance requests

made by the tenants is also reviewed to identify if there have been more than 5 requests in a 12-month period for a

particular item. If there have been more than 5 requests, the item is marked as ‘critical’. If an item is missing, it is

immediately put on the replacement list. If an item that is marked ‘critical’ and is in poor condition, it is put on the list

for replacements. If an item is not marked critical, but is in poor or ok condition, it is put on the list of repairable items.
