SOME RULE HIGHLITES

If a safety is called either on a dog or a person all points are awarded. If safety is on the last bird the clock stops when the dog is leashed by the handler. There will not ever be a nonperforming bird issue. If a bird doesn’t get up you must pick it up and throw it at least 20 feet into the field so your dog still has to retrieve it. There is no NON PERFORMING BIRD. Once any dog has the bird in its mouth and does not escape on its own; trapped bird points are to be deducted. One shell must also be deducted upon retrieval. TRAPS ARE STILL TRAPS.

Birds will be tucked and nested for pointers. Birds will be plunged from an ATV for flushers.

There is no rule against watching fields prior to your run but you may not watch the bird set to your run or the run prior.Good sportsmen participate and co-operate Great Sportsmenhelp everybody’s’ day go better!

The season will consist of 5 total event dates, however only 3 scores will be totaled towards the end of the year trophies. If you can only make 3 events, those will be your tallied scores. If you can make more; then your top 3 scores go to the total. Running twice in one day will no longer be allowed, neither will “special scheduling” of the run orders; either plan ahead for the events you intend to run or stay home.

Event scores will be posted at the next event throughout the season.

Entries may be limited to allotted time for the day and the season.

ENTRY FEES you will be required to pay $75 for each dog at each eventwith a 2 dog limit. Payment will be made that day to PUBDSas we need to pay each club for the birds and the planter that day.

At first registration you are required to proclaim the handler and list your dogs breed, name and whether it’s a flusher or a pointer. This cannot change during the season. One event during the course of this season a dog will be allowed to run with a different handler for emergency purposes. If it should be required to run with a different handler than listed at registration more than once a 7 POINT DEDUCTION will be taken from the overall score.

You will be allowed to enter the league with 2 dogs as a handler. If you have more than 2 dogs you must designate someone else at registration. That person must handle only those dogs as registered or the 7 point deduction will occur.

This event is meant to be FUN!! Yes there will be a little competition, but more so about camaraderie among fellow bird hunters. The final tournament will be awards day (as well as any run-offs to break any tie in the top places). What better way to spend a Sunday than with your dog and having a beer and listen to the Packers with peers!! Events will be held snow, rain or shine but will be rescheduled if weather is a major factor. We will not put dogs or people at any serious health risks.

Thanks again for supporting this bird dog club.
