Heart of Gold Charity
Last year was the second year for our charity golf outing fundraiser. The golf outing was a huge success again. We had 144 golfers (maximum capacity for one session) and about 250 guests for dinner and dancing that evening. Through silent auction, 50/50 raffle, t-shirt sales, etc. we raised a little over $14,000! That puts us at $35,000 for a two year grand total! Thank you to everyone that donated and participated in this event. We awarded and paid out our four medical/nursing scholarships, delivered a gift bag for all 85 new heart families at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) last year. In addition we again made monetary donations to the HermaHeartCenter at CHW and Ronald McDonald House.
Mark your calendars next year’s golf outing is set for August 15th!!!
Scholarship Expansion
We are still going to offer our scholarships at Richmond-Burton, Munising, Harvard, andJohnsburgHigh Schools.These schools showed us tremendous support during our journey and we will continue to give back to them.

We are planning an expansion of two scholarships to Badger and Wilmot High Schools for the 2008-09 school year.
Pop-tab Challenge
The Pop-tab Challenge was a huge success! Congratulations to the Weber Family for a dominating performance in the first challenge. A return appearance of this fun competition will occur at the 2009 Golf Outing.
Heart of Gold Charity presents a challenge to you! Start collecting pop-tabs today. The person/people that collect the most pop-tabs will win a special gift at the golf outing. We will weighthe tabs at the outing and announce the winner.
Rules of the competition: Collect as many tabs as possible and bring them in a plastic bag (to prevent unfair container weight) to be weighed.
Donations
Heart of Gold Charity received many donations during the holidays. Thank you to all who thought of others during this holiday season! We accept donations all year by mail or by PayPal on our website.
