  • Oversee an agreed scope of work and/or the operational workload of a team of contractors, ensuring allocated work is completed/resources are fully utilised in order to deliver against an agreed programme of work.

  • Deliver/assist to manage small to medium scale projects or programmes of work, ensuring appropriate use of resources to deliver the required scope of work within set deadlines.

Key Deliverables
1. / Programme management of the Integrated and Smart Travel work-stream in compliance with agreed procedures and guidelines /
  • Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager - pro-actively support programme management of the Integrated and Smart Travel work-stream to time and budget.
• Ensure compliance with all agreed procedures and compliance with all procurement, standing orders, financial regulations, relevant legislation and other statutory requirements.
• Actively contribute to the development of the PMS function and organisational procedures.
• Lead on the delivery of the intended deliverables, timelines and outcomes of identified customer information and innovation initiatives as part of Tranche 2 of the IST programme.
2. / Ensure that appropriate Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Programme Plan information required for each designated project are put in place /
  • Ensure PEPs and Programme Plans are initiated and kept up to date for each project including risk and issue management.
• Review progress by activity ahead of weekly and monthly progress meetings and identify delivery risks, opportunities and potential mitigation.
3. / Management of the effectiveness of project and programme working groups and/or sub-groups and teams /
  • Manage project working groups and/or sub-groups to deliver the Integrated and Smart Travel agreed objectives, whilst reviewing and confirming compliance with appropriate TfN governance, standards and procedures.
• Develop and undertake all necessary reporting requirements aligned to agreed programme management procedures to ensure projects and programme meet agreed Programme Plans.
• Take responsibility for setting task briefs with key deliverables, monitoring progress and taking appropriate action to ensure performance against defined time, cost and quality criteria.
• Develop and manage the project and programme working groups and/or sub-groups, monitoring adequate resources available to deliver at all times.
4. / Projects and programmes managed in compliance with agreed procedures and guidelines established by PMS /
  • Undertake assigned duties and manage designated projects in accordance with Project Management Procedures and complying with all Standing Orders, financial regulations, relevant legislation and other statutory requirements.

5. / Stakeholder communication strategies in place for designated projects and programme activities and stakeholders made aware of project progress /
  • Establish and lead effective working arrangements with multiple internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on the development of projects and programmes.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms to engage directly on a regular basis with bus operators, DfT, Traveline and other key programme stakeholders to ensure alignment on project deliverables and timelines.
  • Undertake public consultation and liaison on projects / programmes as necessary.
