OVERLAND PARK HOST LIONS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Overland Park Host Lions Club will award up to three $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who demonstrate both academic achievement and a record of outstanding community service. Because Lions Clubs around the world are service oriented, a student’s record of community service will be a major factor in determining scholarship recipients.
To qualify a student must:
1. Be a graduating high school senior that lives within and/or attends a high school located in Overland Park or Prairie Village.
2. Have plans to attend a two or four-year accredited post-secondary institution.
3. Complete the application, attaching as necessary extra pages to list service projects, both within and outside school, and extracurricular activities.
4. Write an essay of no more than one page describing how he or she has demonstrated a commitment to community service.
5. Include one letter of recommendation from a person who is knowledgeable about the student’s service activities.
Completed applications should be returned to the Scholarship Committee chairperson by April 15, 2014. The application form is also available on the Overland Park Host website: www.OPLIONS.org.

The Overland Park Host Lions Club scholarship is for the amount of $500, payable to the recipient in early August at a meeting of the Overland Park Host Lions Club. Service activities of applicants will be a major factor in selection of any recipient.
