Objective
This project is a preparation for your final paper, which you will research and compare the work of two painters. Consider this preparation as an opportunity, a kind of outline or “warm up” exercise for the final paper. This exercise is intended to help you define your scope, gather important information and to formulate ideas for your final paper.
For this preparation you will briefly research on the work of four painters.
You can choose any painter explored in the course, as well as from the list below.

1. First Paragraph
Name the four painters. Discuss your reasons to choose these artists (their work address ideas that interest you, their work has some relation to yours, their work is visually compelling that you want to investigate further, there are interesting relations between their work, etc). Support your reasons with a brief discussion on the artists’ work.
2. Second Paragraph
Narrow down your choice from the initial four to two. (These two artists will be the pair that you will conduct an extensive research and comparison for your final paper). Keep in mind that these two painters, when compared and contrasted, will draw out the difference and uniqueness of each other. (for example, a modernist abstract painter vs a postmodernist abstract painter, a male postmodern painter vs a female postmodern painter, a figurative painter vs an abstract painter etc). Discuss the rationale behind your selectionof the final two painters from the first four (e.g. their work seem so different on first sight but you see a deep connection that should be explored further).
Include one image plus caption (title, dimension, medium, date) from each of the two painters.
3. Third Paragraph
Discuss what you hope to accomplish through your research and comparison of these two painters
