2.1MATERIALS

.1Fuses: to NEMA SG2 and ANSI C37.46.

.2Insulators: to EEMAC G11, as indicated.

2.2LIGHT LOAD AIR BREAK SWITCHES

.1Horizontal mounted, vertical break, rotating insulator, gang operated, single throw, 3 pole.

.2Rating: 600A, 5, 15 kV, as indicated.

.1Momentary rms asymmetrical A: 18,000 or as indicated.

.3Insulators: post type.

.4Universal mounting base for each pole designed for woodmounting, as indicated.

.5Arc horns: galvanized steel to permit switch opening and closing under light load, magnetizing or charging currents.

.6Bearings: silicone grease lubricated for life.

.7Interphase mechanism assembly:

.1Operated from center end.
.2Outside poles connected to center pole through end yoke assemblies, pipe turnbuckles and universal ball and yoke assembly to permit switch operation with up to 15 degrees misalignment of pole bases.

2.3FULL LOAD AIR BREAK SWITCHES

2.4PRIMARY FUSES

.1150 MVA at 4.16 kV.

.2400 MVA at 13.8 kV.

.5Refill unit consisting of:

.1Fusible element: silver.

.2Arcing rods: main rod copper, silver clad, auxilliary rod stainless steel.

.3Solid material arcextinguishing medium contained in filament wound glassepoxy tube.

Part 3Execution

3.1INSTALLATION

.1Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

.2Connect switch terminals to primary feeder and load feeder.

.3Locate, mount and connect fuses.

3.2FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

.1Perform tests in accordance with Section 260500 - Common Work Results - Electrical.

.2Energize and load feeders controlled by load break switches.

.3Open and close load break switches at least ten times over period of 8 hours to ensure proper mechanical and electrical performance of installation.
