Data Quality/User Report/Report Cards
- Final PIT numbers for the fiscal year went out last night. Your COC cards should be to you by Friday. Data Quality will begin soon.
- Jane wants each new service point member who doesn’t offer homeless services to pay $250 startup fee and for each individual license. $175 per license. Vote: Unanimous approval.
- Finance Report

- AppelWorks
- Point Time Count is coming up, Mercedes will be in contact. Focus will move to Governance. Need a few more people to participate. Ilene Hogan has agreed to join.
- Projects/Programs/Initiatives
- Lincoln Park Lofts/Visger/Raupp
- Please continue to submit apps even though almost full. If you send an app and they’re on the waiting list, don’t stop looking for housing. A memorandum of understanding with Melvindale Housing Agency, to be signed by Louis Piszker, to send people to Coogan Terrace.
- Shelter to Motel
- We cannot take someone from shelter and put them into a motel. Only time it is appropriate is if you are signing lease within a week.
- Christnet
- Jane reads letter from Debbie Peitre. Update on Nightime and Daytime shelters and building.
- SSVF

- Safe Step Anniversary
- 10th anniversary grand reopening on Nov. 7th.
- PIT – January 25, 2017
- Everyone who received HUD or ESG funding must have a rep on PIT committee. A form will be sent to everyone who receives funding.

- Not funded. Renewal was not awarded. Refuse to pull plug on standalone employment training. Jane has found funding at Wayne Metro to fund client-related assistance like work clothes, transportation, licenses, etc. Evaluate if we should request funding. Contact Dave Thomas for Veteran-specific resources.
- Field Office virtual meeting
Topics covered were PHA collaboration, consolidation of grants, transfer of grantee. If anyone wants more info, see Jane.
- Grantee meeting Nov. 3
- People have received notice. Encouraged that new and returning grantees attend. Not conducted by HUD, conducted by TECH assistance provider.
6.MSHDA
- ESG
- Ready to start using ESG for FY 17.
- HCV/PBV waitlist
- As of 9/15, there are 542 people on the homeless preference list. 50 names have been pulled by Molly. A few ESG rapid rehousing.

National Coalition for the Homeless ask for CoC to sign letter. Jane reads letter to group. Unanimous approval to sign on. Letter will be sent to entire group.

Overview of Out-Wayne’s efforts to address Veteran homelessness over the past 15 years
10:10 AMMichelle Edwards, Homeless Assistance Specialist,Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
Over 1,000,000 to help vets who don’t qualify for SSVF or Vatch funding. Goal is to end veteran homelessness. Working to increase funding amount. Few features make it different from SSVF. You can be dishonorably discharged unlike SSVF. MSHDA does come with income eligibility 50% of area median income. Every COC have an allocation. 4400 homeless vets identified in MI in 2015.

Dave Thomas speaking.Focused on ending veteran homelessness.State-wide coordination of resources. “No wrong door” approach of help. Call 1800 MICHVET. 8-5pm State of Michigan. 5-8am – 211 rep for immediate needs.

One-stop downriver for Vets.Clothes, food, phones, transportation, appliances, furniture – pretty much everything. Women veterans and males are the same. Serviced 33,000 through American Legion. Thanksgiving dinner for Veterans at 1136 in Wyandotte.Must be a veteran to work/enter the court.

Coordinated assessment process asks “are you a vet” If yes, they’re automatically sent to SSVF specialist. Instead of numbers, we have names. If someone is on the list, their status changes to keep things current.
