PURPOSE OF POSITION

Support the delivery of world best service by the Destinations team by undertaking your role and commiting to developing your expertise through training supported by the Head Chef.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake the role taking directions from the Head Chef on shift.
  • Continually update knowledge and keep abreast of emerging trends.
  • Participate in training as necessary to carry out this position to a high standard.
  • Assist with ensuring the general cleanliness of the kitchen area.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment to an excellent standard.
  • Ensure the hygiene of food preparation areas and equipment.
  • Debrief at the end of each shift with the shift Team Leader.
  • You must familiarise yourself with RACT’s WH&S management system and ensure compliance within your work area to operate with a safety focus at all times
  • Actively contribute to a vibrant, collaborative team focused environment.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria (required for entry into a position)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • Base knowledge of the type of work carried out in commercial cookery.
  • Ability to apply sound mathematical skills in aworkplace context.
  • Demonstrated desire to be part of a Tasmanian organisation that actively engages with and supports our community
  • Knowledge of or the ability to quickly acquire the knowledge of RACT products and services.

Qualifications, Education & Training Requirements

  • Eligible to enrol in the relevant TAFE Commercial Cookery course.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Special requirements: /
  • Attendance at staff training, team meetings and corporate functions may be necessary outside normal business hours.
  • Some travel may be required.
