West Lancashire Volunteer Centre recruits volunteers for over 200 hundred organisations and so there is a wide range of volunteering opportunities available.

Volunteer Family Support Worker

We are looking to recruit volunteers, particularly parents and grandparents, who have a few hours each week to spare and who would like to offer support to families. This can be offered either in families own homes or through a Family Group. (WL982)

Outings SideKick

We are looking for a volunteer to support a person with a learning disability in their 50s to access their local community in Skelmersdale and go on trips and outings.(WL1082)

Breastfeeding Peer Support

We are looking for mothers with breastfeeding experience who can contribute to our

Peer-to-peer support service on the Maternity Ward at Ormskirk Hospital 7 days a week.(WL820)

Wings Appeal Organiser

The Volunteer Branch Wings Appeal Organiser will organise the fundraising activity for their branch, including sourcing opportunities for local collections and organising Battle of Britain Wings Appeal fundraising events.

Community Car Driver

This is an opportunity to serve your community by driving your car to take elderly or disabled people to the shops, health venues or to see friends. Your mileage costs will be fully reimbursed.(WL992)

Lancashire Wellbeing Service Volunteer

We are looking to recruit Volunteers throughout the Lancashire area to support the service. Each volunteer will be assigned a mentor who will assign practical tasks to help service users to improve their health and wellbeing e.g. accompanying people to appointments, groups and activities or helping to access local support services.(WL1083)

Volunteer Receptionist

Receptionist required to help in Ormskirk. Duties include supporting the work of the counsellors by greeting clients, taking payments, filing confidential records, photocopying and accurate updating of the diary.(WL965)

Sighted Guide Befriender Volunteer

Sighted Guide Befrienders required to offer friendship and companionship as well as sighted guiding. (WL 1081)

Kids Club Volunteer

Supervise children, maintain register, run Tuck Shop, help set up and pack away. Prepare and arrange games/activities, possibly do visits and distribute leaflets.The club is open Tuesday and Friday evenings in Carfield, Skelmersdale. (WL 219)
