A Recipe for Your Dog

HOWL-O-WEEN TRICKING TREATS

Makes 14 bewitching treats --perfect for gobblin'

THESE FRIGHTFULLY GOOD HOWL-O-WEEN TREATS ARE GUARANTEED TO GIVE YOUR PUP A VERY SPOOKY BOO-ST

2-1/2 cups water

1/2 cup canned pumpkin

1/8 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

4 cups whole-wheat flour

1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup chopped pecans

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 cup oats

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, mix water, pumpkin, vanilla and egg thoroughly.

Combine flour, raisins, pecans, baking powder, nutmeg and cinnamon

in a separate bowl, stirring well.

Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well, making sure no

dry mixture is left.

Spoon into a greased muffin tin, filling each cup completely.

Sprinkle the top of each muffin with oats and bake for

1-1/4 hours. Cool completely and store in a sealed container.

OMG! I am so excited to announce our 1st ever JH titled Dog!!!CH ClearCreek Bonaventure Snafu JH now!!! Handled by Earl Thomas, Bred by Elizabeth Martin, Tom and Gail Shearer...and Owned and loved by Randahl, Jennifer, and Ruth Hoffmann.

Sonlight’s Any Port In A Storm (Mac) 10 months old and Cabin Creek All Decked Out In Sonlight (Trex) 14 months old, went 4 in a row to complete their Junior Hunter title at Skunk River Hunting Retriever Association near Des Moines, Iowa on September 29th.Earl Thomas did a wonderful job running our boys for us and we couldn’t be more pleased. Also on September 29th, Sonlight’s Solo Dee Oh Gee took his 12 to 18 month class at Rockford-Freeport Illinois Kennel Club. This was co-owner Laura Olson’s first time in the ring and she’s done a great job training and working with Roody. It’s really been a wonderful year for all our Sonlight dogs.

On Saturday Sept. 15th my husband Ryan handled our boy Nugent to his 4th HRC Finished pass at the Fox River Valley Hunting Retriever Club test. This 4th pass earned Nugent his Finished Hunting Retriever Championship or HRCH. Nugent also earned a place in the UKC history books as only the 3rd Labrador Retriever ever to have BOTH a Grand conformation Championship and a Hunting Retriever Championship. Words can't express how very proud we are of our Nuge aka: U-GRCH HRCH Windy Knoll's Spirit of the Wild SH, RN, WC, WCX!!!!!

Sonlight Lunar Eclipse, Luna took Best of Breed at the Cudahy Kennel Club show on August 10th and Luna took Reserve Winners at the Greater Racine Kennel Club show on August 12, 2012.

At the Kenosha Kennel Club Show on Sept 9th, Sommit’s Cocoanut UD RA NAJqualified in both Open B and Utility B handled by Sue Sommer. Sommit’s JunuhRNearned a perfect score and 1st place in Rally Advanced A and Sommit Chestnut Hills Veta took 2nd in Rally Nov B both handled by Linda Waco. Cocoanut also got double Q’s in agility in Minnesota on Sept 15 and 16th and earned her NAJ title, handled by Grace Cooper.
