A Recipe for Your Dog

SPRING VEGETABLE BOWL

3 1/2 oz new carrots

3 1/2 oz asparagus

3 1/2 oz cauliflower florets

3 /12 oz scallions

1 clove garlic

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 1/4 cups unsalted vegetable stock

1 1/2 cups porridge oats

1 tablespoon chopped spring herbs

Peel the vegetables and cut into small pieces. Finely chop the scallions and garlic. Heat the oil and sauté, then add the vegetable stock and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes on a medium heat. Add the porridge oats and cook for a few minutes. Take off the stove and allow to cool, then stir in the spring herbs.

Serve in portions, lukewarm or cold.

Anthems Blue on Black (Beau) finished his Championship on April 9th at Kennel Club of Yorkville by going WD and BOSS. Beau turned 9 yrs old on April 28th! Thanks to co-owner Kaye Buck for handling him to his 3rd major and last single points.

Dunn's Marsh Chocolate Martini SH RE RATO AWC earned her Master Barn Hunt title (RATM) at the Cudahy KC Barn Hunt Trial April 30th. Only 39 Labs have earned this title so far and I own two of them -- Marti and her mother, Summer. Deb Hamele

Kaltrav Tangled Up In Blue won WB/ BOS for a 3 pt major. And also won, Best Puppy at The Fondulac shows on Sat, April 21

On Sun, April 22 she won WB/ BOS for 2 Pts.

Tango is owned and loved by Kathy Turbett

On March 26 Sommit Chestnut Hills Veta earned her 1st UD leg at Racine KC(1st place). Then her 16 month daughter Sommit’s Hillary earned her first breed points with a BOB over specials at the Yorkville show on April 9.

Veta continued the streak with a second UD leg at Car Dun Al KC on April 23

Both are owned by Sue Sommer and Linda Waco and handled by Sue.

This year’s theme is Garden Party.

Friday’s activities will include:

Eye Clinic

Puppy Match

Conformation Certificate Evaluations

Dog Games

All you can eat buffet (always a highlight)!

Start making those raffle baskets. Single items also welcome.

Ideas to help you: dog beds, crates, grooming supplies, bowls & buckets, toys & treats, coffee & teas, wine, food items.

Suggestions for baskets:

Cake basket: cake mix, pan, muffin tin, spatula, bowl, decorations, frosting.

Date Night: Pasta, sauce, chocolate, candle, wine, glasses.

Spa Day: loofa, soaps, lotions, nail file, pumice stone.

Chill Out: coloring book, markers, pencils, wine, chocolate, wine glass, candle, tea.

Garden Basket: gloves, spade, flower pot, seeds, kneeling pad or put them in a flower pot instead of a basket.

Father’s Day: Duct tape, WD40, Goo gone, work gloves, tools.

Other great items:

Bird feeder or house, garden supplies, pot of flowers, garden stakes or flags, windchimes.

We are asking all members to bring 1 or 2 pots of flowers, any size, to decorate and you will take them home!

We really want to make the specialty look like a garden!

There will be a cash drawing this year:

$300 prize, $10 per card, only 54 chances sold.

Be sure to wear your flowered shirt and/or sun bonnet on Saturday and tell everyone to do the same!

THE LISTED BREEDERS ARE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OF WLRC, BUT IN NO CIRCUMSTANCES DOES WLRC GUARANTEE THE SERVICES OF SAID MEMBERS. BUYERS SHOULD REVIEW ANY CONTRACTS AND/OR GUARANTEES WITH THE BREEDER.

Our Winnebago LRC website has all the info for our June specialty. Don’t forget to enter by May31st for the show and obedience. Agility also closes May31st.

Our hunt test is on Entry Express.
