John Piippo, Pastor of Redeemer Fellowship of Monroe, Michigan

has a Ph.D. in Religious and Theological Studies (Philosophical Theology) from Northwestern University. He is Senior Pastor at Redeemer Fellowship Church in Monroe, Michigan. In addition John is Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Monroe County Community College; Adjunct Professor of Spiritual Formation at Payne Theological Seminary (A.M.E.); Visiting Professor at faith Bible Seminary in New York City; and formerly Adjunct Professor and Project Director of the D.Min. Program at Palmer Theological Seminary (1994-2006). John has been married to Linda for 40 years. They have two sons, Daniel and Joshua. Visit John at www.johnpiippo.com.

Sometimes it takes time to unwind from the pressures of ministry. To help with that we are planning a low-keyed Sunday evening— time to unwind and catch up with one another. You are welcome to arrive Sunday evening after 5 p.m. or Monday morning as your schedule allows.

On Sunday evening at 6:30 we will leave for a local restaurant for a leisurely meal (cost on you). When we return to the retreat center Ross Lucas will lead us in a time of fellowship.

Other events to look forward to include times of worship led by some of you.

Also returning by popular demand is the Monday evening Joy Party. We had such a great time last year that you won’t want to miss the fun. Scenes of undignified pastors singing karaoke still fill our minds...

Finally, due to the nature of the retreat, it has been decided to only offer single rooms (married clergy excepted)

SPEND TIME AT THE RESOURCE BAR!

You've heard of a salad bar, an ice cream bar, Mongolian BBQ bar and, of course, the corner bar. Well this year at the retreat we're offering you a 'Resource Bar'. One of the highlights of our gatherings is the opportunity to share information about resources with one another; books, CDs, DVDs, websites, blogs, etc. These resources can be for reflection, edification, programming, education, counseling, sermon preparation, etc. So this year, Laura Lee Strawser is offering a 'Resource Bar' where you can share your great FINDS with others.

Here's how it will work:

· Laura Lee will provide a table where resources can be displayed

· You bring a resource to display

· Mark your resource with your identification; indication whether you are willing to loan it out

· Write a 'brief' summary of the resource and how it worked for you

· Laura Lee will 'tend the bar' and watch over your items so you can just sit back and enjoy some great conversations about your resources!
