Submission fee: $30 + HST

Artwork Dropoff: Monday, April 2, between 10am – 4pm

Artwork Pickup: Monday May 21, between 10am – 4pm

GUIDELINES

  • Only electronic submissions will be accepted, whether by email, CD/DVD or on a USB
  • Still images must be jpegs not exceeding 1024 (w) x 768 (h), 1 MB or less in size, preferably in RGB mode
  • Hyperlinking to a specific image file is NOT acceptable
  • Animated gifs ARE acceptable
  • Video files must be accessible by QuickTime, Flash or Windows Media Player
  • Emailed video files must not exceed 10 MB
  • Hyperlinking to a specific video file IS acceptable
  • Video file submissions must not exceed 3 minutes (exhibited video may be longer)
  • Files must not be compressed (e.g. .zip) or in any type of presentation (e.g.PowerPoint)

OMAH is not responsible for submissions that do not arrive intact and in a readable format.

CONDITIONS

  1. Exhibition is open to all artists residing in Canada.
  2. Artists may submit ONE (1) work only, per submission. Artists may submit more than once to a maximum of THREE (3) submissions.
  3. Artwork must in some way centrally address the topic of “the Body,” or, “the Figure,” or artistic practices that involve, use or in some way engage the body as a substantial component in the artwork.
  4. Artwork must be original AND have been created in the last 12 months AND must not have appeared in a prior exhibition in the City of Orillia.
  5. There are no size restrictions, however artwork must be able to pass through 36” door openings. Due to spatial constraints, only a limited number of larger works will be accepted.
  6. Non–refundable entry fee of $30CDN must be received by OMAH no later than the submission deadline, February 26, 2018.
  7. The jury will make its decision on the basis of digital submissions.
  8. Accepted artworks must be received by OMAH on April 2, 2018between 10am – 4pm.
  9. Transportation of artworks to and from OMAH is the responsibility of the artist(s).
  10. Artwork must arrive display-ready with appropriate hardware. Two-dimensional work must be ready to hang. Photographs should be professionally mounted and/or framed. OMAH reserves the right to refuse work if it arrives in a condition unsuitable for presentation in a museum gallery setting.
  11. A printed or clearly written identification label that includes Artist, Title, Date, Medium, Dimensions, and Price/Insurance Value must accompany artwork.
  12. All entries must remain on display until the final day of the Exhibition, May 20, 2018.
  13. Juror’s prize will be announced at Exhibition Reception, Saturday, April 14, 2018.
  14. Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
  15. Any sales of artwork will be divided: 70% to the artist, 30% to OMAH
  16. Artworks must be removed from OMAH, Monday May 21, 2018 between 10am – 4pm.
  17. After May 21, 2018, artworks are no longer insured by OMAH.
  18. OMAH allows visitors to take photographs in the museum. If artists do not want their work photographed, they must inform the Museum in writing. In most cases, and to the extent that enforcement is reasonable and possible, OMAH will attempt to accommodate artist’s request.
  19. OMAH retains the right to use artist’s images for promotional purposes related to the current and future iterations of the Carmichael Canadian Landscape Exhibition.
