2.  How Do We Calculate Call Charges?
2.1.  Will we charge you for an unsuccessful call?

We will not charge you for calls that are not successfully connected to a called number (including a number to which a called number diverts), including where:

(a)  the called number is engaged, disconnected or out of order,

(b)  the called number cannot be accessed using the service, or

(c)  there are network or other service failures that have caused temporary interruptions to the service.

2.2.  How do we calculate the cost of a timed rate call?

(a)  For the period on and from 18 July 2010, if you make a timed call we will charge you:

(i)  A call connection charge of $0.45 per call on all plans excluding Business Wireless Phone Saver & Business Wireless Phone Timeless plans; and

(ii)  An amount calculated by multiplying the per second rate by the length of the call:

(A)  Rounded up to the nearest 30 second interval and cent for calls to Australian GSM mobiles and community calls; or

(B)  Rounded up to the nearest per minute interval and cent for international calls,

(b)  If you are an SMB customer and make a timed call we will charge you:

(i)  A call connection charge of $0.28 per call if you are an SMB customer excluding Business Wireless Phone Saver & Business Wireless Phone Timeless plans; and

(ii)  An amount calculated by multiplying the per second rate (rounded up to the nearest second and cent) by the length of the call.

(d)  The per second rates vary depending on the call type.

(e)  The length of the call is calculated as the time from when the call is answered and finishes when the circuit established for the call is released at the local exchange or other network facility.

2.3.  How do we calculate the time of your call?

(a)  To calculate the time of a call we will use the local time recorded at the first mobile base station through which your call passes. This may not be the local time at the place you are located.

(b)  Generally, the time of your call will be determined throughout a call. For example, if a call starts in a peak period and finishes in an off-peak period, the charge will be calculated pro-rata using the peak and off-peak rate.

2.4.  What is a peak or an off-peak call?

Some call charges depend upon the time of day and the day of the week. In these cases, peak and off-peak prices will be stated:
