Laser Regatta

ORGANIZATION, RULES & VENUE:
The regatta is organized by the Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club and will be sailed under the rules as defines in the Racing Rules of Sailing and the Laser Class Rules on the South Shrewsbury River. Time limits for boats starting after the starting signal, time to round the first mark and time to finish after first boat finishes a race change rules 35, 62.1(a), A4 & A5. These will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions.
ENTRY FEE: $25.00
FORMAT/RACING:
The low-point scoring system, RRS Appendix A will be used.
Five (5) Races planned with 1 throwout in the event that all five are sailed. One race shall constitute a regatta. One start for both rigs.
PROGRAM/TIME:
Registration:8:30 – 9:45 am
Skippers Meeting:10:00 am
First gun:10:30 am (estimated earliest time)
SOCIAL:
Bagels, Fruit, Coffee, and Juice. Lunch and beverages after the racing.
SAFETY & LIABILITY
It is the responsibility solely of the participant if they should sail in the weather and sea conditions that might arise during the event. Proper safety equipment is required. Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization of official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained because of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor agrees to release the race organizers from all liability associated with such competitor's participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.

First three positions for Full Rig, Radial Rig and Master Class (either rig scored using Masters Scoring with a minimum age of 35)

DIRECTIONS TO SHREWSBURY SAILING & YACHT CLUB,
ONEIDA AVENUE, OCEANPORT, NEW JERSEY
EXIT 105 on the Parkway. East on State Highway 36 to Oceanport Avenue (at Monmouth Park Racetrack). Left on to Oceanport Avenue to first traffic light. Right on to PortauPeck and follow PortauPeck almost to the River. Turn left onto Oneida and Club is down at the end.
