Open Call for Modern Artistic Latinx Performances:

The National Park Service and Los Paisanos de El Chamizal seek individuals/small companies that perform modern period, Latin artistic productions - plays, dance, music, to be staged at Chamizal National Memorial, El Paso, Texas during the International Siglo de Oro Drama Festival, April 7 to April 15, 2018.

The Siglo de Oro will be celebrating its 43rd continuous year in 2018. The Festival brings theatre companies from all over the world to perform works from the 16th and 17th centuries, known as the Golden Age of Spanish art and culture; however, this year we are expanding the festival to include modern works.

Chamizal National Memorial, a unit of the National Park Service, commemorates the peaceful resolution of a long standing border dispute between the United States and Mexico. The park is dedicated to its mission of international understanding and cooperation through artistic, cultural and historic programming. It is not only an ideal place for theatrical classics to be performed, in order to discover and explore the richness of the Spanish heritage of our bi-cultural, bi-national community, but, with this expansion into Latinx performance, it will also provide insights to our world today.
