ONLINE TA INSTRUCTIONS

TA applications will NOT be accepted after the course starts. Make sure you apply at least 1 week prior to the course starting date to avoid delays and problems.

  1. Log on to the AF Portal* at This should bring you directly to the AF Virtual Education Center (AFVEC).
  2. Verify and update all of your personal information (phone, email, etc).
  3. Verify that your servicing Education Center is correct.
  4. Ensure that you do not have any missing grades over 60 days old.
  5. Under Self-Service Apps, select “Apply for TA” and follow the 6 step procedure.
  6. Under Step 4, you will be required to enter UAA’s fees. You will use the drop-down menu to input the individual fees being assessed. However, the name given to the fee by UAA does not always match what you see in the drop-down menu on AFVEC. Below, you will see the UAA fees that the AF will fund and the corresponding drop down menu option you will choose for your online TA. Input each fee separately. If you have any questions, please ask for assistance from the Education Office or UAA representative if applying at their on-base office.

Note 1: Lab/Material/Special Fees are course specific fees, so they are entered differently than the general fees listed above. You will input these fees in Step 3 when you input your courses. You will put the amount of this fee in the “Lab Fee” box of the course data form (e.g. Biology Lab Fee).

Note 2: The AF does NOT pay for Parking Fees, Administrative Fees, Late Payment Fees, or Late Registration Fees.

  1. Verify your enrollment information, check off the conditions, and digitally sign your TA.
  2. If everything is correct, you will see a page that displays your TA number.
  3. Within 48 hours, you will receive an email letting you know the status of your TA.
  4. Once approved, the Education Staff will, as a courtesy, print out your TA and bring it down to the school for you. However, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the TA has been received and that your account is in good standing.
