I. THE FOUNDATIONAL VERSE FOR STUDYING THE BIBLE
When it comes to studying the Holy Scriptures, there is only one place in the entire Bible that deals with a command to studyyour BibleBY WHAT METHOD you are to do that and for what reason. It is mentioned in 2 Timothy 2:15. In the Authorized Version, of the King James Bible it reads as follows –
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
This verse is one of the most attacked verses in the Bible by Satan. For every perverted translation in the English language, (let alone many other languages around the world) corrupts (2 Cor. 2:17) this verse. Blake, along with others who use the King James Bible avoid this verse like they try to avoid a plague. There is no Charismatic or Pentecostal that will ever SUBMIT to this verse no matter how much they talk about “Jesus Christ” “healing,” “tongues,” etc. The Pope talks about Jesus Christ. So what!!! Blake doesn’t fair much better either. This verse for Blake along with his fellow Pentecostal and Charismatic friends is one of the greatest stumbling blocks in the Laodicean Period (Rev. 3:14-21).
This verse is so important that if you do not obey what it says as it stands in the King James Bible, you will destroy at least 1/3 of the scriptures by perverting the interpretation. There are three basic methods of interpretation of the scriptures –
1.)Repetition (Isa. 28:9-13)
2.)Comparison (1 Cor. 2:13, KJV)
3.)Division (2 Tim. 2:15, KJV)
The third point, division (2 Tim. 2:15) is what we will be looking at.
Now let’s break that verse down.
1. First of all the verse is located in the SECOND chapter. Anybody knows that if you are a true scientist that the God of science is the God of the Bible. He is the God of numbers. You have an entire Book in the Old Testament called “NUMBERS.” In your Bible, the number two basically means “DIVISION.”
2. Secondly, the verse is located in SECOND Timothy. Now you’ve got a double “2” for emphasis of this number “2.”
3. If that weren’t enough, right in SECOND Timothy of chapter TWO, in verse 15 you have the KEY word, “DIVIDING” the number of division. For the very second verse in the entire Bible is the cause of division. And 2, two times is 4. Look at what God did in the fourth verse of the entire Bible (Gen. 1:4). He “DIVIDED.”
4. Then you have the word “STUDY”(2 Tim. 2:15) right before your eyes in a King James Bible. Not only that. God gives you the Biblical method how to study, “RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.” If that weren’t enough, the verse also mentions WHY you are you study, - “to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed”
So you have the WHY you are to study – so that you can be APPROVED UNTO GOD, and not unto man.
In this Laodicean period the less preachers study the Bible by “rightly dividing the word of truth” THE MORE THEY ARE ACCEPTED BY PEOPLE. That doesn’t mean their doctrine is accepted by God. If they are teaching heresy, as all Pentecostals and Charismatics are concerning rightly dividing the word of truth, then God Himself rejects their teaching.
Also, the verse mentions that if a minister is not rightly dividing the word of truth HE WILL MOST CERTAINLY BY “ASHAMED” in the end by God, no matter how much people accept his teaching. Spirituality is NOT measured by the number of followers Blake has.
This is what has happened to Blake, Copeland, Hinn, Hagin, and all the rest of the crazy Charismatic Pentecostals.
5. And finally we get to the METHOD as to how to study the Bible. “DIVIDING”is one of the most important words in the entire Bible It is a NEGATIVE word. That’s why 2 Timothy 2:15 is one of the most DISOBEYED, OVERLOOKED, and REJECTED VERSES IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE by ALL YOUR PENTECOSTALS AND CHARISMATICS, INCLUDING BLAKE. That’s the verse that hangs all these boys.
As a matter of fact when Blake tried to quote 2 Timothy about teaching the Bible he quoted only part of the verse. He quoted the first half and then AVOIDED the second half. He perverted the first half and then left off the second half. You can even hear him destroy the verse at:
It was Eve that left out one word, “freely” (Gen. 2:16; 3:2). So Blake is playing the ole’ omission game when it comes to proper quotation and interpretation of a verse.
II. BLAKE’S HERETICAL BACKROUND
CurryBlake is just another typical Pentecostal. Because of a “prophecy” (watch out for these Pentecostals who are big on “prophecies”) by a John G. Lake (who died in 1935), Curry now has “taken the torch” to be the next big “healer.” Lake spit out some junk supposedly on the 24th of May, 1934 in Spokane, WA
“Against this there shall come forth by My Spirit, a young man, another voice crying in the wilderness to make straight the way of The Lord, restoring old ways and shoring up the terrible gap in the wall to stop the incoming flood of sin and worldliness that shall surely be in the church in that day. This one will be rejected of men and his brethren will not understand nor accept him. But he shall be known as a repairer of the breach and a restorer of the paths to dwell in.”
Well, that went to Blake’s head and is now following in Lake’s steps as a fulfillment of Lake’s “prophecy.”
Let’s go back a bit further and see this line of “apostolic” apostates of whom the Bible calls “LIARS”(Rev. 2:2) who claim to be “apostles” doing the work of the first century apostles.
Lakewas a businessman who became known for his ministry as amissionary,“faith healer,” [Get that!] and founder of theApostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. He was influenced by the healing ministry ofJohn Alexander Dowie, and he received thebaptism of the Holy Spirit[That’s another subject] in 1907 in the wake of theAzusa Street Revival.
Well, let’s go back even a bit further and see just how crazy this “apostolic” line of liars really is.

So now you get some kind of back round where Blake is coming from. He is just one more Pentecostal (Charismatic) heretic who has NEVER understood how to “STUDY” the Bible according to 2 Timothy 2:15 as it stands in the King James Bible.
Now to get an idea where these birds are coming from all you have to do is read the very first sentence in the Statement of Faith which reads –
“John G. Lake Ministries brings a complete Biblical message of the New Covenant way of life, as originally intended by our Lord, to His people.”
Right away you ought to recognize the phrase “New Covenant.” Now if you were to get your concordance and check out what the Bible says about “New Covenant” you would obviously see that Blake is absolutely blind to the fact that any “new covenant” has to do with the NATION ISRAEL and not the body of Christ, nor with any people that profess “Christianity” meaning Catholics, Pentecostals, Charismatics, Church of Christ, etc. Here are the verses, Jeremiah 31:31, Hebrews 8:8, 13; 12:24. The “new covenant” that the Lord has in store is for the NATION ISRAEL and not for the church, the body of Christ. Blake has STOLEN a promise to Israel and applies is DOCTRINALLY TO THE BODY OF CHRIST. He has failed to rightly divide the word of truth. Here is what Hebrews 8:8 says, - For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the lord, when I will make a new covenant with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL and with the HOUSE OF JUDAH:
Now, when we talk about the New Testament, (note the English word “Testament”, KJV), we’re dealing with the blood of Jesus Christ not only for the Church Age, the body of Christ (Matt. 26:28; Mk. 14:24; Lk. 22:20; 1 Cor. 11:25; 2 Cor. 3:6) but for Jews in the Tribulation (Heb. 9:15). But when you read in the King James Bible the word “covenant” (which is a synonym of the word “testament”) you have some added revelation with the word “covenant”for you’re dealing strictly with the Jewish people and the contract or agreement between them and God. For the English word “covenant”is an Old Testament designation and in the New Testament where Paul mentions it in his epistles he is talking about covenants with Israel (Rom.9:4, 5; Eph. 2:12) that were historic (Gal. 3:15, 17) and futuristic in the Tribulation between God and the Jews (Rom. 11:27).
Now Blake, along with dozens of other Pentecostal Charismatics failed AGAIN to rightly divide with word of truth buy slipping in the word “covenant” to put the born-again believer in a Jewish “signs” dispensational period under the law or in a transitional, apostolic period while God was still dealing with the nation of Israel as a nation and not on an individual basis with Jews and Gentiles as He does today. This kind of sloppy exegesis by Blake and company will only serve to their shame “needeth not to be ashamed…” (2 Tim. 2:15) although they have gained much popularity among the professing community of “Christianity” in this Laodicean period of the Church Age.
III. SIGNS IN THEIR PROPER DISPENSATIONAL SETTING
Anybody can easily see, except Blake and his Charismatic Pentecostal friends that the Book of Hebrews is basically to the HEBREWS, and not to the church. He fails to make that distinction (2 Tim. 2:15) in the book of Hebrews where there are verses that clearly CONTRADICT Church Age doctrine. Of course he would use any excuse to defend himself. Heretics do not ever admit that they are heretics. Any sound minded person can also easily see that Hebrews 8:8 is dealing with “the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”Plain and simple! There is absolutely nothing here dealing with the body of Christ.
Blake cannot see the difference between the Jews, the body of Christ and Gentiles as laid out in 1 Corinthians 10:32 – “Give none offence, neither to the Jews,(one class) nor to the Gentiles,(another class)nor to the church of God”(third class). They are all separate and distinct from one another and DIVIDING is necessary between them to properly interpret the scriptures. And since Blake doesn’t see the difference he’s deceived more people than you can shake a stick at. He has disobeyed 2 Timothy 2:15. He is teaching heresies left and right and he is a typical Charismatic, Pentecostal HERETIC who is SINNING, by lying causing unnecessary divisions (Rom. 16:18) in the body of Christ. He can’t divide (2 Tim. 2:15) the Book properly. There is a difference between black and white; up and down; left and right; and Israel and the church (1 Cor. 10:32). But since Blake can’t see that he teaches this dominion junk about healing when healing was a part of the Kingdom of Heaven under the Old Testament during the healing ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ while He was on this earth dealing with His own nation, a nation of JEWS (Matt. 4:23; 9:35). That was a foretaste of what will happen in the Tribulation, after the body of Christ has been raptured.Then all the apostolic signs of Mark 16 will come in again and also will take place during the one-thousand year reign of Jesus Christ when He returns (Psalm 67:2; Ezek. 47:1-12; Mal. 4:2 Rev. 22:2). But you don’t find the “healing of the nations” right now.
1. The Book of Acts – A Transition Period
There was a short period of apostolic gifts of healing during the time of the apostles WHEN GOD WAS STILL DEALING WITH THE JEWS AS A NATION. The Lord Jesus Christ prayed while on the cross,“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Lk. 23:34). Well, God the Father heard that prayer and gave Israel two chances after the leaders murdered the Lord of glory. The first chance took place in Acts 2. Apostles spoke in foreign tongues as a SIGN to the unbelieving Jews (1 Cor. 1:22; 14:22). The second chance took place in Acts 7. Both times Israel did not accept their Messiah. God shut the door in Jerusalem in Acts 7 after the leaders of Israel stoned Stephen when God gave Israel a second chance to receive their Messiah. That is why in Acts 8 you have the Ethiopian Eunuch, a Gentile get saved. It is a TRANSITION. Then in Acts 9 Paul was saved who was to be sent to the GENTILES. That shows you that the Lord is already in a period of TRANSITION because God had to turn to THOSE that DID NOT REQUIRE A SIGN, FOR SIGNS BELONGED TO THE JEWS. But we’re still not completely out of the transitional period because in Acts 10 there were Jews that came with Peter who did not believe something. They did not believe that Gentiles could be saved. So during the preaching of Peter the Holy Spirit came into those Gentiles of Cornelius and tongues were spoken. That was to convince those JEWS that were already saved, that Gentiles could be saved also. You see, those Jews did not believe something (1 Cor. 14:22). And that is why God used SIGNS; to convince JEWS about what God was doing.
By the time you get to Acts 28 that is the last chance for Israel. Paul preached and God closed the door on Israelas a nation temporarily because the Jews rejected their Messiah. That is why He turned to the Gentiles 4 times in the Book of Acts because 4 times the Jews rejected their Messiah, -
1.)Acts 7:51-54 in Jerusalem;
2.)13:46 in Asia Minor;
3.)18:6 in Europe;
4.)28:62-68 in Rome, world-wide.
The last time the Jewish nation rejected their healing Messiah was in Rome under the preaching of Paul. Rome represents the world. That means that since Acts 28 the Lord is not dealing with Israel as a nation any more world-wide, during the Church Age. THEREFORE THE SIGNS STOP because signs were for ISRAEL.
When God is done with the body of Christ, THEN He will pick up with Israel where He left off with ISRAEL. For the Bible says 1 Corinthians 1:22 “For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom” because all of your apostolic signs STARTED WITH THE JEWS AND THEIR LEADER MOSES BACK IN EXODUS 4. As a matter of fact, the first time that “signs” is mentioned in the Bible (other than the “sign” of seasons mentioned in Genesis 1:14) is Exodus 4:8. For the “signs” throughout the ENTIRE BIBLE ARE DEALING WITH UNBELIEVING JEWS, with the exception of the SIGNS OF SATAN TO DECEIVE PEOPLE LIKE BLAKE AND HIS FOLLOWERS
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and SIGNS and LYING WONDERS,
And with ALL DECEIVABLENESS of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.(2 Thess. 2:8-10)
2. Laying the biblical foundation concerning “signs”
To properly understand the Bible’s interpretation concerning signs, let’s get a confirmation of the two statements that Paul made in the New Testament and get an understanding why He wrote what he wrote. The first statement Paul made concerning signs is located in 1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
The second statement is located in 1 Corinthians 14:22
“Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that BELIEVE NOT: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.”
Now, putting these two portions of scripture you have this. There is a long history of signs that the Lord presented before His people, THE JEWS. Those signs were for his people to SEE so that they would BELIEVE what God wanted them to believe. You’ll find that in EVERY CONTEXT where “sign(s)” and “believe” are mentioned. Let’s see that.
3. “SIGN(S)” in the Old Testament FOR UNBELIEVING JEWS
Look at the first mention in the Bible where the words “sign” and “believe” are located – Exodus 4:8
And it shall come to pass, if they will not BELIEVEthee, neither hearken to the voice of the first SIGN, that they will BELIEVEthe voice of the latter SIGN.
