TWO CASES WORKED OUT AND ONE ROBBED MOBILE PHONE, ONE INVERTER BATTERY AND ONE GAS CYLINDER RECOVERED.

TARGETTED LONELY FACTORIES DURING NIGHT.

INFORMATION, OPERATION AND TEAM:-

In order to prevent the incidents of robberies in West district, a team led by Inspr Sushil Kumar and comprising of SI Surender Dalal, HCs Rajbir Singh, Sukhbir, Rishi, Krishan Kumar, Ct Pardeep Kumar under the close supervision of ACP Ram Mehar Singh and overall guidance of DCP Kumar Gyanesh was constituted to identify and apprehend the criminals involved in such activities.

The team members worked relentlessly and details of various jail/bail released criminal were verified. Secret sources were activated and criminal intelligence was developed. The team developed information about a gang of robbers led by Vinod Kumar @ Kana who is actively involved in robberies. On 04.04.2014, HC Rajbir received specific information that Vinod @ Kana would come at Ghevra crossing, Mundka to meet his associates.

Accordingly, a raid was organized and Vinod Kumar @ Sunil Kumar @ Kana (27 years) s/o Bhawani Bheekh r/o Village Hazipur, District Ambedkar Nagar, (UP) was successfully apprehended. On his cursory search, one robbed mobile phone was recovered from his possession. During sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he alongwith his associate had robbed one godown at Mundka and robbed articles were sold to Ganesh Prasad who is having a Kabari-shop in Tikri Kalan, Delhi. Acting on his disclosure, Ganesh Prasad was also arrested and the robbed articles were recovered from his shop.

INTERROGATION AND PROFILE:-

It was revealed that both of them belong to middle class families and they had indulged in criminal activities to earn easy and quick money.

  1. Vinod Kumar @ Sunil Kumar @ Kana @ Raju (27 years) s/o Bhawani Bheekh r/o Village Hazipur, District Ambedkar Nagar, (UP) has studied upto 2nd standard. His father is a farmer at his native village. He fell into bad company and became a drug addict. Presently, he was working as a labourer in Nangloi. He came into contact with two criminals Raj and Rajesh who are residents of Bihar and started committing robbery in houses and godowns.

2.Ganesh Prasad (38 years) s/o Ram Narayan Shah r/o H.No.382, Village Nizampur, Delhi has studied upto 5th standard. He fell into bad company and left his native village in year 2007. Presently, he was working as Kabadi and was involved in purchasing stolen/ robbed goods from Vinod and his associates at cheap prices.

GANG OF DESPERATE ROBBERS BUSTED, SEVEN ROBBERS ARRESTED, SEVERAL HIGH PROFILE AND SENSATIONAL DAYLIGHT ROBBERY CASES OF ALL OVER DELHI SOLVED

With the arrest of seven accused persons namely (1) Praveen, aged about 33 years r/o West Patel Nagar, Delhi, (2) Vicky Vishambhar, aged about 26 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi, (3) Ajay @ Ganja, aged about 22 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi, (4) Deepak, aged about 22 years r/o Pratap Bagh, Delhi, (5) Neeraj, aged about 21 years r/o Sonia Vihar, Delhi, (6) Rehan @ Danish, aged about 21 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi and (7) Rakesh, aged about 33 years r/o Sitaram Bazar, Delhi, Central District police has busted a gang of desperate robbers who had committed sensational daylight cash robberies all over Delhi in a spate of last 8-10 months. One semi-automatic pistol, one Hero Honda Hunk motorcycle, one Hero Honda Passion motorcycle, One Hero Honda CD Deluxe, Two Pulsar motorcycles, one Bajaj Chetak scooter and one Samsung mobile were recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT:

For the last few months, several incidents of robberies of huge amount of cash from the victims carrying cash to financial institutions and other places were committed by bike borne armed robbers in all over Delhi. In all the incidents accused persons had followed the route of the victims carrying cash and then strategically robbed them at gunpoint. Several police teams of all over Delhi were searching for clues about the accused persons but nothing came out.

TEAM INVESTIGATION AND ARREST:

In order to work out the robbery cases, a team of Special Staff/Central District consisting of SI Pramod Anand, SI Pawan Tomar, ASIs Gajender, Ranbir, Ramniwas, Rameshwar and Vedpal, HCs Lal Singh, Kanhaya, Yadram and Naresh Cts Sundar Singh, Amarjeet, Mahesh, Ombir, Harish, Manish and Naveen was formed under the supervision of Insp. Satender Mohan, I/C Spl Staff and overall guidance of Sh. Sudhir Saxena, ACP/Operations, Central District. The team thus formed extensively studied the incidents pattern and carried out massive verification of Jail/Bail release of persons. Technical surveillance was also mounted on few suspected persons. Special emphasis was also launched on tried and tested traditional information system of police through Eyes & Ear scheme.

The persistent and focused efforts of police team bore fruits and on the basis of secret information, one accused person namely Praveen along with one semi-automatic pistol was arrested from near Chawri Bazar, Metro Station while he was waiting for his accomplices to commit the crime. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 82/14 was registered at police station Hauz Qazi and the investigation began.

Thereafter, Praveen was interrogated at length and his mobile contacts were scrutinized. It was revealed that he was a close friend of one person namely Aakash @ Honey who operates a gang to commit cash robbery along with few of his accomplices. After that efforts were made to trace the accused persons.

On 04/04/2014, one accused person namely Vicky Vishambhar was arrested from Arambagh area of Paharganj while he was in possession of a mobile phone which was snatched by him along with Akash @ Honey one month ago from Minto Road. On verification, it was found that a case vide FIR No. 79/14 U/S 356/379/34 IPC was registered at police station Kamla Market in this regard.

Thereafter accused Vicky Vishambhar was thoroughly interrogated who disclosed about his involvement in several cases of high profile robberies committed in Hazrat Nizamuddin, Jahangir Puri, Maurya Enclave and Rani Bagh. On the basis of information provided by accused Vicky, other accused persons namely Ajay @ Ganja and Rehan (on motorcycle found stolen from the area of PS: Nabi Karim vide FIR No. 88/13 U/S 379 IPC) and Deepak and Neeraj (on Hero Honda Hunk motorcycle found stolen from the area of PS: Parliament Street vide FIR No. 81/14 U/S 379 IPC) were arrested from Arambagh area of Paharganj, Delhi. On further interrogation, clue about presence of accused Rakesh in Kamla Market area was received and subsequently a trap was laid near Shivaji Park in Kamla Market. Accused Rakesh was arrested on 5-5-2014 while he was riding on Hero Honda Motorcycle which was found stolen from Daryaganj area vide FIR No. 285/13 u/s 379 IPC P.S. Daryaganj.

All the accused persons were interrogated at length and confronted with each other. The interrogation revealed their involvement in a series of robberies committed by them in different groups in all over Delhi. On the instance of accused persons two m/cycles (One Hero Honda Hunk and Bajaj Pulsar) and one Bajaj Chetak Scooter which were used in committing serial robberies, were seized.

INTERROGATION:

On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that besides seven arrested persons there are at least six other persons in the group who used to commit robberies in different groups of 4-6 in one incident. The specific information in almost all the cases about transportation of huge cash was provided to the group by accused Rakesh r/o Sitaram Bazar, Hauz Qazi, Delhi, who used to gather information by developing sources near financial institutions etc. The group would do recee of the route followed by the victim several times before intercepting the victim in pre-planned manner.

It was also revealed that two accused persons namely Ashwani @ Ashu and Rahul Thakur who are involved in these incidents were earlier arrested on 10-03-2014 in a hurt case vide case FIR No. 133/13 u/s 308/34 IPC registered at P.S. Paharganj and are presently running in judicial custody.

These accused used to spend the looted money lavishly. On verification, it was revealed that accused Ajay @ Ganja allegedly repaid the loan of his purchased flat worth Rs. 31 Lakh from this money. Accused Vicky invested the share of his robbed money in his tent business, purchased a car and spending lavishly on his girlfriends in Manali and other hill stations. The other remaining accused persons also spent the money lavishly on various things.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress and efforts are being made to trace the other members of the gang.

(The accused persons namely Ajay @ Ganja and Rehan were found in possession of stolen Hero Honda Passion motorcycle which was stolen by them from the area of police station Nabi Karim)

  1. FIR No. 81/14 dtd. 31.03.2014 u/s 379 IPC, PS Pt. Street.

(Accused persons namely Deepak and Rehan were found in possession of stolen Hero Honda Hunk m/cycle which was stolen by them from Parliament Street area to use it for committing robberies)

  1. FIR No. 336/13 dtd. 17.10.2013 u/s 394/397/34 IPC, PS Nizamuddin.

(The complainant reported that four persons riding on two bikes robbed cash Rs. 15 Lakh from him at Oberai Flyover while he alongwith his colleague were carrying cash of Cumsum Restaurent, to the office by cash van)

(Accused Vicky Vishambhar alongwith absconding accused Akash @ Honey snatched the mobile phone of complainant when the latter was walking down on Minto Road)

(The complainant reported that while he was on his way to office towards Vardhman Plaza Rani Bagh, his bag containing Rs. 4.5 Lakh Cash, few cheques and other documents were robbed by three bike borne persons in Pitampura area in the morning of 16/12/2013.)

(The complainant reported that while he was carrying cash Rs. 4-5 Lakh, laptop and some documents in three carry bags, four persons riding on two bikes initially asked some address and then robbed all the bags on gun point and fled.)

  1. FIR No. 190/14 dt. 11.03.2014 u/s 392/397/34 IPC, PS Jahangir Puri.

(The complainant reported that four persons riding on two m/cycles robbed Rs. 6.96 Lakh cash, two cheque books and other documents on gun point near Nirankari Ground on Outer Ring Road. The cash was of Bhagwati Filling Station which was being carried by employees for deposition in OBC Bank Azadpur on m/cycle.).

(1) Praveen, aged about 33 years r/o West Patel Nagar, Delhi is 10th pass. He is married and has one son. He operates his ambulance in Kalawati Hospital.

(2) Vicky Vishambhar, aged about 26 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi is 6th pass and is school dropout. He is unmarried. He has one younger brother and two married sisters.

(3) Ajay @ Ganja, aged about 22 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi is 11th pass. He is unmarried.

(4) Deepak, aged about 22 years r/o Pratap Bagh, Delhi is working as a mechanic.

(5) Neeraj, aged about 21 years r/o Sonia Vihar, Delhi is unmarried.

(6) Rehan @ Danish, aged about 21 years r/o Paharganj, Delhi is unmarried and resides with eunuchs in their community.

(7) Rakesh, aged about 33 years r/o Sitaram Bazar, Hauz Qazi, Delhi is unmarried and is a school dropout. He is a Halwai by profession.
