Analytical note
on the results of conducted polls
of project U-Report in April 2016.[1]
Poll №1 «YouthSpeakAIESEC»
Thepurposeofthepoll: torevealthemainadvantagesofstudying at a college/university, the measures that help youth to develop themselves as a professionals and form traits of a real leader.
According to the results of the poll, the biggest advantage of studying at a college or university for U-reporters are acquiring knowledge (40%), practical skills (35%), a diploma (19%) , and getting new acquaintances (18%). Among others mentioned advantages are life experience, personal development and formation of personality, communication with peers (Pic. 1).

U-reporters indicated activities that give the opportunities to develop as a professional: changing programs (50%), educational visits (17%), lectures (14%), volunteering (14%), conferences (13%) and case studies (10%) (Pic. 2).
Additionally, respondents mentioned other possibilities also that allow young people to develop professional skills: participating in public organizations’ activities, summer schools and training, workshops, festivals, meditation, professional practice, work on a specialty.

Answering to the question "What the trait makes a person a true leader?", the respondents mentioned about sociability (13%), goal-orienting (12%), responsibility (11.5%), confidence (10%), perseverance (8.2%), charisma (6%), determination (5%).
In the rare cases respondents mentioned the following personality traits as:education,insistency, courage, organization, hard work, professionalism, self-development, fairness, attentiveness, honesty, sincerity, activity, initiative and leadership. Poll №2 «Appeal for medical aid»
Thepurposeofthepoll: togettoknowaboutexperienceofyouthtoappealformedicalcareand minimum age for independent appeal to the doctor.
44% of U-reporters appealed for medical care1-2 times for last 12 months,3-5 times – 23%. Every fourth respondent (24%) neverappealed for medical care(Рic.4).

According to the Ukrainian legislation ifa person aged 14-18 in medical institutions services are provide only after parents’ permission (guardians, family members)[4]. Only after reaching the 18 year young people have the right for independent appeal for medical care without parents’ escort.
It is worth to be mentioned respondents’ opinions about whether to allow adolescents 14-18 years old to appeal to the doctors without the permission of their parents, divided: 53% said Yes, 47% said No.
At the same time, U-reporters suppose that an average minimum age for independent appeal for medical care must be 16 years (30.5%). Distribution of U-reporters’ answers to the question about the minimum age varies from 7 years to themaximum - 30 years (Pic5).

Poll №3 «Political situation»
Thepurposeofthepoll: torevealtowhatextendyouthinterestedinpoliticalsituation in Ukraine and specificof voting.
64%of respondents are interested in political situation from time to time and rarely. Every fourth U-reporter is interested in current political events (27%) (Pic. 6).

The majority of youth (66%) believe that a vote in elections should be obligatory for all citizens. At the same time every third believes that the right to participate in the vote should not have all citizens.
The minimum age of participation in voting must be 18 years (57%), while the rest of the respondents believe that the minimum age for participation must be 15-17 years (18%) or 19-21 years (21%). Minority of respondents (3%) indicated that minimum age for participation in the electoral process must be 22-25 years (Pic. 7).

Poll №4 «Sustainable Development Goals»
Thepurposeofthepoll: to reveal the level of awareness of youth about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations Organization till 2030 and who should be the goodwill ambassador of youth and SDGs of Ukraine.
68% of respondents don’t know about Sustainable Development Goals.
Among them who know about SDGs 53,5% are sure that Ukraine will have reached the main indicators of future international development by 2030, at the same time 46,5% of respondents do not think so.
Accordingto the U-reporters’ opinion such well-known Ukrainians may be the goodwill ambassador of youth and SDGs of the UNO as SviatoslavVakarchuk, Ruslana, Tina Karol, Dzhamala and others (Pic. 8).
