On motion of Mr. Zahn, seconded by Mr. Spears, the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION NO. 123807
A resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Al Herrara, 4408 Rue St. Peter, Kenner, Louisiana 70065 to the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Transit Authority, to replace Mr. Dominick F. Impastato, III. (Parishwide)
WHEREAS, LSA-R.S. 48:1651, et seq., created the Regional Transit Authority which includes the Parish of Jefferson; and
WHEREAS, LSA-R.S. 48:1655 provides, in part, that the board of commissioners of the authority shall be composed of three members from each participating parish appointed by the chief executive officer of that parish, subject to the approval of its governing authority; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dominick F. Impastato, III was appointed and approved to the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Transit Authority pursuant to Resolution No. 122106, adopted June 12, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dominick F. Impastato, III is leaving the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Transit Authority and a replacement is needed; and
WHEREAS, the Parish President, as the Executive Officer of the Parish of Jefferson, has appointed Mr. Al Herrera to replace Mr. Dominick F. Impastato, III as a member of the Board of Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Jefferson Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Jefferson, Louisiana, hereby resolves:
SECTION 1. The appointment of Mr. Al Herrara, 4408 Rue St. Peter, Kenner, Louisiana 70065 to the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Transit Authority, to replace Mr. Dominick F. Impastato, III is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. That the Council Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Regional Transit Authority.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
