Opportunities during Stateside Assignment

1.  Several months before your stateside assignment, you will receive some speaking options. Please respond to our office as soon as you can, concerning your availability.

2.  Please consider your scheduled speaking assignments as significant commitments and avoid cancellations except in emergencies. If a cancellation becomes necessary, contact our office immediately, and we will contact the association and event coordinators.

3.  Invitations to participate in events are only extended to those assigned. That is, spouses or children should not plan to attend unless specifically invited by the event director.

4.  Couples assigned to OMC’s usually speak at different churches. Please take this into consideration when preparing your presentations.

5.  When you accept an assignment, you are committing yourself to arrive for the orientation meeting, which is usually held the evening before the conference begins, and to remain through the final meeting, in most cases, leaving the following day.

6.  The local association or church that has invited you is only obligated to cover travel costs up to the price of an economy airline ticket per vehicle traveling to the conference.

7.  When you are assigned to an OMC, please wait for the director of the association to contact you about the details of participating in the conference. If you have not heard from the director 6 to 8 weeks before the conference date, call our office at (800) 999-2889, Ext. 1911, and we will put you in touch with him/her immediately. Communication with the director before the conference begins is critical.

8.  Please follow up with a note of thanks to the event Director or your hosts. Many people work very hard and give generously to make the event a success. They deserve our gratitude.
