Dress Rehearsal Week (Tech Week)
Dress rehearsal week is November 14 - 16, 2016. Rehearsal times are 5:00 pm-9:00 pm (subject to change). These rehearsals are mandatory for all actors and crew. Depending on your child’s role, they may be required to arrive earlier for make-up and sound check. These rehearsals are your child’s first opportunity to work in the theater in full production with lights, sound, costumes, etc.
Lunch
Please provide a lunch and WATER BOTTLE for your child for each play practice. The kids will have a quick 15 minutes to each lunch prior to rehearsal. We will be offering Pizza Lunch for an additional fee (form provided at parent meeting).
Costumes
B&B has some remarkable and, in some cases, elaborate costumes. The production team will make every effort to assemble all costumes. Some ensemble actors may be asked to provide some pieces for their own costumes (all of which can be purchased at thrift stores, typically shoes, tights…etc.) but most costuming will be provided by the Production.
Behavior
It is our desire that this theater experience offers a special place where cast members can feel comfortable and safe in an environment where they can explore and express their personal creativity. Please consider when auditioning that rehearsals can be very long and taxing, especially for young children. Any inappropriate behavior will be dealt with promptly and fairly by the Production Staff in accordance to the guidelines set out in the OLPH Student Handbook. The Production staff has a zero tolerance for Bullying and will take all issues to OLPH Administration immediately.
Play Fees & Cost
The fee is $125 per student and $60 for each additional sibling. This fee will cover costumes and all costs associated with the production of the play. Your registration fee (checks payable to OLPH School) must be returned with your play registration packet. This packet is due on TUESDAY, August 23, 2016 and must be received in the school office before your child will be allowed to audition.
Refunds
Our goal is to have as many children participate in the play as possible and to make this a memorable experience for all of them. We ask that parents give careful consideration when having your child audition. Please note that there are no refunds given after the cast list has been announced. However, if your child is not cast in the play, your check will be returned promptly.
Parent Meeting
The parent information meeting will take place Wednesday, September 7, 2016, 7:00:- 8:30 pm in Maguire Hall at OLPH. It is mandatory that each child (or family) have at least one parent in attendance.
Parent Assistance/Volunteer Needs
There are many areas where volunteers are needed as we prepare for our production. Volunteers will be needed with Set Build, Costumes, Pre-show hair and makeup, Backstage Monitoring, Ushers/Intermission Sales, and Sunday after show Set Strike and cleanup, to name just a few. Sign-ups and more opportunities to share your special talents will be reviewed at Parent Meeting.
We would love to have your child audition for this year’s show and look forward to yet another show stopping production from the OLPH St. Genesius Theatre Troupe.
If you have any questions, please contact, Production Assistant,. I am happy to answer any questions.
