London Grand Tasting 2016

General Information

In accordance to the 2016 Promotion Plan and with the aim to identify new business opportunities for business community, ViniPortugal will organize the London Grand Tasting 2016 on the March 2nd in the Royal Horticultural Lindley Hall, London.

The Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting, is oriented to Portuguese Producerswith and without distribution in the market, exclusively toprofessionals, is thought to be attended 550 professionals from the on and off trade and about 50 journalists. In this edition we will have new thematic areas, and we’ll organize 3 Seminars with the participations of: Chef Nuno Mendes, and the winner of Viniportugal program - Sommelier Wine Quest 2015 -, Christophe Richelet

The speakers and topics discussed at these seminars are:

  • On trade: Ronan SayburnMS - How to successfully add Portuguese wines to your list
  • On-trade: Nuno Mendes & Wine Quest 2015 winner Christophe Richelet from Taberna do Mercado - How to match Portuguese wines with food
  • Off trade: Angela Mount - How to make money by listing Portuguese wines in your store

Participation Conditions

  • Registration open to Portuguese Producers with or without distribution in UK market;
  • Event requires physical presence of the wine producer or company representative;
  • Subject to the “General Conditions for Participation in events organized by ViniPortugal”, not relieving the reading of the document;
  • Program financed by Domestic Market.

Participation Costs

  • 600€*+VAT per tableat the legal rate.

Producers presenting Port or Madeira Wines (wine not subjected to the promotion tax referred in D.L. nº94/2012 of 20th of April, regulated by ordinance nº 426/2012 of 28th of December) have an increase of 50% to the registration cost, in due proportion to the number of wines from Porto and Madeira registered for the event. Thus, for each Port or Madeira Wine registered increases €30fee

Incaseof sharedtable it willbe charged an extra fee of €60peradditionalwine producer, however the weight restrictions and wine references to be submitted, per table, is the same.

Each table allows present a maximum of 10 different wines. In case of exceed this limit it will be charged an extra fee of €60 per wine for still wine and €90 per wine for the Port or Madeira Wine category.

Payment, Financial Conditions and Penalties

  • First Paymentof 50%should be done until the limit date of registration January8th ,2016,. The payment outside closing date will result in an increase of 25% over the participation cost;
  • Second Payment of 50% should be done until January 30th ,2016,. The payment outside closing date will result in an increase of 25% over the participation cost;
  • Payments may be done by bank transfer to IBAN: PT50.0033.000045277716746.05 or by check to the order of ViniPortugal.

Wine Admission Criteria

  • Registered wines must comply with the admission criteria defined in “General Conditions for Participating in Events organized by ViniPortugal”;
  • Parallel events – dynamic and conditions to be determined;
  • Shipping of wines and promotional material from Portugal to the venue, according to the following limits:
  • 60 Kg per table**;
  • 10 References per table

  • Non-compliance with the limits described above will imply the payment of the additional cost per each Kilogram above the stipulated limits, directly to the Shipping Company by the producer (to be defined later).
  • In case of sending the wines to the transportation company in the name of different companies, will be charged an extra cost per each company.
  • In case of a surcharge over fortified wines or custom fees not expected, that value will be debit by ViniPortugal to the wine producer by additional values ​​in their due proportion.

  • Step 4:Rest of payment proof until January 30h, 2016to: . If you pay by Check, please send to ViniPortugal care of “Serviços Administrativos e Financeiros”.
  • Step 5: Send the wine boxes, technical sheets and promotional material to the shipping company,accordingly to instructions to announce later.
  • Step 6: Inform ViniPortugal by emailto: the effective date of wine delivery to the shipper.

Space Allocation Criteria:

The registration is not a guarantee of space/table allocation. In case of oversubscriptions, if they comply the requirements above designated, priority will be given to wine producers in the following order:

  • Highest number of participations in Viniportugal events in the UK in 2015
  • Highest number of participations in Viniportugal events in the world in 2015
  • Participations in Grand Tastings Events (London)
