Dr. Moreland hospitalizes his patients at Saint John’s Health Center. He is on the clinical faculty at UCLA School of Medicine. The solo practice has its offices at
2001 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 1280W, Santa Monica, California 90404.
Jack C. Purdy, M.D.
Since there are no residents or fellows associated with Dr. Moreland’s practice, he is usually assisted at surgery by Dr. Jack Purdy, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Moreland takes his own night and weekend call responsibility rather that having another physician cover for him. When Dr. Moreland goes out of town, Dr. Purdy usually follows his patients during his absence. Since Dr. Purdy is usually the assistant surgeon, he has familiarity with most of the patients. When a local orthopaedic surgeon refers patients, sometimes that orthopaedist assists at surgery.
Hilda Flores
Hilda is Dr. Moreland’s Accounts Manager and Surgery Coordinator. She is in charge of our billing and will assist with the processing of your insurance claims. She utilizes computerized billing systems in order to provide you with prompt service on your claims. Hilda will help obtain presurgery authorization from your insurance company. She can address specific requests about surgery including surgery time, private room requests or requests for a specific anesthesiologist. Hilda has been working for Dr. Moreland since 1989.
Heather
Heather is our Medical Office Coordinator. She is responsible for scheduling follow up appointments and frequently is the first person who speaks with you on the telephone. She assists with prospective new patient gathering of information. Heather will assist and welcome you when you arrive in the office and should be notified if you have changes in your address, phone number, or insurance information. Heather can also assist you in obtaining any required letters of medical excuse.
Matthew Adigwe
Our x-ray technician is a state and nationally licensed x-ray technologist. He has many years experience working with orthopaedic patients and has been with Dr. Moreland since 2002. The use of our state of the art radiographic unit, in combination with high speed cassettes and film, produces high quality radiographs with a minimal amount of x-ray exposure to the patient.

Office Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. The main office telephone number is (310) 453-1911 and is answered personally during office hours, not by a machine. You may utilize our office voice mail when the office is closed by calling the same number and leaving a recorded message. We will return your call when the office next opens. In an emergency the answering service operator will locate Dr. Moreland. He would appreciate if all non-emergency calls, such as prescription refills, be made during regular office hours. We look forward to caring for you and answering your questions.
