Request for Information RE: Shared Ministries Funding - 2015

Dear Ministry Colleague,

ThisRequest for Information RE: Shared Ministries Funding was developed by the CFO/CBO of the Northwest Texas Conference (Conference) as a tool to help the Conference as well as the ministry area discern what God is calling us to do and what resources are needed and available.

ARequest for Information is to be submitted by all organizations that wish to receive Shared Ministries (apportionments) and who are not a recognized board, commission, council, committee, or auxiliary organization of the Northwest Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. Internal boards, commissions, councils, committees and auxiliary organizations will submit their budget requests through the Conference’s internal budgeting process.

Information submissions will be compiled by the Conference CFO/CBO and submitted to the Conference Council on Finance and Administration (CF&A).

  • If the ministry cannot be funded throughShared Ministries, CF&Awill notify the submitter, usually on or before April 15.
  • If approved/and or modified by CF&A, the requestwill be incorporated into the Budget for Shared Ministries for the next calendar year which is submitted to the Annual Conference for approval in late spring, usually in June.
  • If approved by the Annual Conference, the applicant will be notified by mid-summer before the applicable calendar year to which the funding applies, usually by July 15.

We are not asking for extensive financial budgets or detailed program evaluation charts. Where possible, we have filled in basic information based on previous submissions. However, please check that information for accuracy. What we are looking for is a sense of how this ministry funding will help you help us make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and how this funding will help steward and extend the United Methodist witness in Northwest Texas.

Fundingis for a one (1) year duration. To be considered for the next budget cycle (calendar year 2015), this information request must be received in the CFO/CBO’s office on or before February 28, 2014. All submissions as well as any questions should be directed to:
