October Choice Boards

Directions: Below are the choice boards for homework each night. Please initial and date the choice box as your child completes an activity. Remember, activities should not be repeated until all activities have been done at least once. Send your child’s completed work to school each day. If your child completes an activity that is hands-on and cannot be brought in to school, pictures of your child completing the activity are always welcome by email and will be counted as complete. Send pictures to: Thank you! 

Language/Sight Words

Practice writing your first name five times. Use a different color each time you write your name. / Lay your sight / Rainbow write your sight words. Each letter should be a different color! / Cheer your sight words! Ex: Give me an S! Give me an E! Give me an E! That spells SEE!
Write your sight words using chalk, paint, or markers. / Draw a picture of yourself and write your first and last name under your picture. / Write your ABC’s in all capital letters. / Write your abc’s in all lowercase letters.
Draw a bus or other school related item and write your sight words inside the picture. / Type and email your sight words to your teacher at: / Write your sight words using apple colors: red, yellow, green / Create your own project or activity using your sight words.

Math

Rote count to 30 with someone while jumping up and down. / Count all the windows and doors in your house and write that number.
______/ Play “I Spy” with shapes. / Write the numbers 1-10 in order.
Gather ten items in your house and sort them. How did you sort by: color? size? shape? kind? / Find objects that are shaped like a triangle, circle, square, rectangle in your home. / Draw a triangle, color it red. Draw a circle, color it green. Draw a rectangle, color it blue. Draw a square, color it orange. / Finger write zero to ten in flour, sugar, or dirt.
Draw a picture of three things that are usually red. / Draw a picture of three things that are usually green. / Draw a picture of three things that are usually yellow. / Practice position words by putting a pencil under a chair, beside a book, above a table, and betweentwo cups.
