OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FILING PROCEDURES

Upon filing, thePetitioner willneedto attach to petition proofof validinsuranceandacopyoftheir official drivingrecord. Thedrivingrecordmaybe obtainedthroughthe TexasDepartment ofPublic website at Click on “DriverRecords.”

Petitioner will file the completedOccupationalLicensepetition(attached),proof ofvalidinsurance (SR-22),acopyofanofficial driving record, acopyoftheirdriver’s licenseoridentificationcard,and the$66.00 filingfee.

Once the petition is filed, along with theappropriatefilingfees anddocuments, thepetitioner mayrequest ahearing.

Ifthe license isgranted the Petitionerwillneed togeta cashier’scheck ormoneyordermadepayable to the TexasDepartment of Public Safetyforthe issuanceofa license.(NO CASH/NOCHECKS) You will also need to complete an SR-37 which is attached.Theamount of themoneyorder depends on how longyou need the licensefor$10.00 foroneyearand $20.00 for twoyears.

Petitioner will also need moneyto payforcertifiedcopiesofthe ordergranting occupational driver’s license.Typicallythis costs approximately$5.00, it’s best to pay forthisincash.
