David, A Man After God's Own Heart
Acts 13:23-27

NTRODUCTION

Doctors have the medical technology to perform a heart transplant. It is an amazing thought that we can take a heart from a one and put it in another. What would it look like to take the heart of God and place it within us? David can teach us.

I. One who is after God's heart will LEARN from God.
A. I Samuel 17: 34-37
B. David saw how God had worked in the past and was therefore

confident about the future.

II. One who is after God's heart is LOYAL to God.
A. One who is loyal does All God's will.
B. David was faithful to God even when God blessed him.

III. One who is after God's heart LONGS for God.
A. David was not perfect. His biggest mistake was with Bathsheba.
B. Psalms 51 shows us how one who longs for God deals with his

sin.

CONCLUSION
David, a man after God's heart teaches us to learn from God, be loyal to God, and long for God especially in our sin.
