Intro Concept:
Aim of the TC “Observe Rethink Act: urban environment & inclusion” is to use Banja Luka urban environment as perfect playground to involve young people in the community development and let them reflect on the importance of their active participation for a better quality life. Starting from main environmental elements of the daily life of young people (in this case river Vrbas, city beaches, green areas), the project would like to explore new tools and competences (educational, communication, self engagement, green creativity, etc.) to promote a more sustainable lifestyle and to foster new opportunities of social inclusion among young people coming from less privileged conditions. The context of Banja Luka could represent an interesting and fruitful playground to work, learn and practice the relationship and the interaction between the human urban settlements and sustainable development due to the policies applied (production of energy from fossil fuels, wild overbuilding, waste management, etc.) and crucial recently topics faced at local level (river pollution, decreasing of both city parks and public green areas, lack of sustainable mobility, etc.) that shown the important role young people need to assume in order to guarantee a more inclusive growth at social, environmental and economic level. The project want to represent an international opportunity for youth workers/leaders, young artists, environmental activists, educators and volunteers from EU and SEE to share experiences and knowledge, to melt together different artistic competences, educational and environmental backgrounds, to strengthen democratic cohabitation and sustainable lifestyles. Project will be realised within the framework of ORA process and methodology: ORA's concept is to provide directly young people/citizens with the opportunity to Observe their own context (both local and international), to Rethink their own role (as individuals and members of society) and to Act as responsible citizens to strengthen community. During the Training Course will be realized ice breaker activities, team building exercises, presentation of the associations, an intercultural evening, session “Open Space” to share local contexts, working sessions to analyse and address the topics of the project, different meetings to share with the hosting local community (Youth Centres, school students, young people) the results and outcomes of the project activities, evaluations. Core part of the activities will be represented by the organisation of 3 workshops that will use different languages, techniques and tools (Visual perspectives, Urban gardening, Educational modules) and will provide possibility for all participants to share experiences, explore new competences, create awareness actions, concrete products and educational modules.
Workshops
In the days 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 26th April, the 3 practical workshops will run at the same time: for this reason, participants of each national group will be divided among the 3 proposed workshops according to their personal choice and/or interest (at least 1 participant per each country per each workshop). We would like to avoid to have participants from same association in the same workshop in order to guarantee the intercultural exchange and let each partner gain the maximum knowledge as possible from all the workshops.
