As Western manager sales increased by utilizing standard sales and marketing tools ie: short and long term goals, promotional activities, market surveys, broker network, and market development. The method to achieve this was based on servicing existing accounts through sales incentives, support for distributor food shows, new product introduction and end user support.

Riverbend International was a multinational company specializing in theprocessing and marketing of fresh citrus, citrus concentrates, and tomato concentrates. Customer list included McDonalds Corp., Kraft Foods, McCormick, McCains Citrus, and Campell Soup.

Responsible for Quality Assurance of two processing plants producing tomato and citrus concentrates. The department was managed in a proactive manner. The Q.A. department supported the field, production, and sales department. I was responsible for technical sales presentations to our major accounts, as well as managing the laboratory.

7/88 to 12/89 California Pretzel (production supervisor)

California Pretzel is a manufacturer of pretzels, and breadsticks. The products are packaged for nationally known brands of snack food manufactures and distributors. Customer list includes Laura Scudders, Granny Goose, Nalley’s, Gerber, and Albertsons.

As a production supervisor the primary responsibilities were to keep the process running smoothly. Doing so required attention to all aspects of the process such as safety, personnel, quality, and equipment.

3/85 to 3/88 Giurlani USA (production supervisor/quality control)

Giurlani USA produces and distributes various pickled food products for the retail and institutional markets. Retail label is the Star brand. Product line includes peppers, onions, cherries, carrots, cauliflower, and olives. I was initially hired as production manager with subsequent promotion to technical director.
