  • Software included and needed for an equipment’s processing unit to operate should be considered an attachment, and coded with Object Code 613 if it brings the acquisition cost of the equipment to at least $5,000.00
Does not cover:
  • For Telecommunications nonexpendable costs use Object Code 713
  • For other non-expendable costs use Object Code 013
Special Instructions:
Nonexpendable equipment should not be charged to capital or modal projects unless prior approval is granted by funding sponsor (e.g.: FHWA, Local Agency).
Disposal of nonexpendable equipment purchased with federal funds may require credits to the federal bill.
Any proceeds from sale/trade-in of such equipment originally purchased with federal funds will be shared with the participating federal agency. / 32 / 16

Covers payments for IT consultant and professional services by others outside of State service when performed under service contract or agreement that isnot related to project delivery. This includes computer services, IT consulting services, etc.
Also covers:
  • Payments to California Universities and Colleges for IT (contract is a standard agreement)
Does not cover:
  • Payments for consultant and professional services, specifically covered by other Object Codes (i.e. 032, 232, 332, 432, 832, etc.)
  • Payments for contract student assistants (Object Code 532)

Services in connection with approved federally-aided projects require prior approval of the Project by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). A copy of the proposed agreement must be submitted for approval prior to beginning work (reference: Federal-Aid Policy Guide, Subchapter B, Part 172). Project will determine eligibility.
