Summary of Role:

DFP are in the business of providing excellent investment advice to its clients and we are now seeking to hire an investment specialist to join this fast-growing company. The key attributes required are strong interest in investment markets, strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent writing skills and most importantly a strong desire to look after the financial welfare of clients.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Investment Team who are charged with managing client portfolios.

Investment Specialist Responsibilities:

·  Develop and deliver ‘best in class’ investment services to the Company’s client base.

·  Specifically prepare and deliver professional investment reviews and manage client investment portfolios.

·  Foster client relationships and build assets under management in line with the Company’s ambitious growth plans.

·  Actively participate in a core team of client portfolio managers and specialists for the Company’s business.

·  Contribute to the Investment Committee with investment ideas.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

·  Strong investment management experience, ideally across all asset classes

·  Understanding of portfolio theory and practical experience of portfolio construction

·  Good knowledge of single stocks, ETF’s, investment trusts and investment funds with an understanding of how these investments fit into portfolios.

·  Credibility in wealth management and a proven track record of performance delivery and people/customer management.

·  Ability to understand clients’ complex affairs and needs and make sound recommendations.

·  Capacity to present information to clients in a succinct and highly professional manner.

·  Effective communication (oral and written), ability to operate and challenge at a senior level.

·  Customer focused to ensure the Company is sensitive at all times to the demands of its customers.

·  Ability to work on own initiative, with familiarity and experience of working within an entrepreneurial, customer focused culture.

·  A reasonable facility with Excel, Powerpoint and Word.

·  The successful candidate is likely to have a CFA qualification.
