PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY2015 – 2016
The Thomasboro Academy’s Title I school wide program encourages each parent to be involved in their child's education. This policy outlines the parent involvement activities that will be conducted during this school year.
♦ Parents will receive a copy of the Parent Involvement Policy (this document) – which describes the ongoing activities that are held to inform and involve parents in their child's education.
♦ Parents will receive a copy of the Parent-School Compact - this is an agreementbetween the home and school outlining everyone's responsibility for supporting student learning.
♦ A school open house was held on August 22, 2015 for middle school.
♦ A Title I annual parent meeting will be held on September 30, 2015 at 6:00 pm.
This meeting will cover:
- What Title I means to Coulwood
-Share grade level learning objectives
- What activities children will be involved in
- How children will be assessed to determine growth
- When and how information will be disseminated to parents
This meeting will also give parents the opportunity to actively participate and haveinput into the Title I school wide program.
♦ Monthly newsletters, suggestions on how to work with your child, lists of good books to read with your child as well as other information will be sent home periodically to provide opportunity to train parents to help their children succeed in school.
♦ Parent-teacher conferences will be held twice in the school year, Fall and Spring. Teachers will be available to review your child's progress and answer any questions you may have. Parents are encouraged to schedule conferences at other times during the year.
♦ Parents will be offered training on Parent Portal and the Curriculum their child will be studying
♦The student agenda will be used as a daily communication tool between home and school.
♦ A survey will be given to parents in the spring of the year that will allow parents a chance to voice their feeling about the Title I school wide program. We look forward to suggestions or recommendations from you that can help us improve our Title I program.
♦ An annual review meeting is held each year in the spring to review the Title I school wide program. Parents are welcome to attend. The results from the parent survey as well as teacher input will be considered when planning for the next year. The results of this annual review meeting will be shared with parents at the annual parent meeting in the fall.
♦ We invite you to call the school or your child’s teacher at any time during the year to ask any questions you may have or to schedule a visit or meeting. It is our hope that your children will have a wonderful learning experience at Coulwood S.T.E.M. Academy.

POLITICA DE PARTICIPACION DE LOS PADRES2015 – 2016
El programa Título I de Thomasboro Academyinsta a que cada uno de los padres participe en la educación de su niño(a). Está política contiene las actividades de participación para padres que serán realizadas durante este año escolar.
♦ Los padres recibirán una copia de La Política de Participación de Padres (éste documento)-él cual describe las actividades en curso que se llevan a cabo para informar y involucrar a los padres en la educación de su niño(a).
♦ Los padres recibirán una copia del Compacto de Padre-Escuela – este es un acuerdo entre la familia y la escuela donde se describe la responsabilidad de cada uno en apoyar al aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
♦ El 22agosto del 2015 tuvimosOpen House (“Casa Abierta”) para primaria y secundaria.
♦ El 30 de septiembre del 2015 tendremos la Reunión Anual de Título I
En ésta reunión se proveerá información sobre:
- Lo que el ser Titulo I significa para Coulwood
-Objetivos de aprendizaje por grado
- Las actividades en las cuales los niños estarán envueltos
- Cómo determinaremos el crecimiento de los niños
- Cómo y cuando la información será enviada a los padres
En ésta reunión los padres tendrán la oportunidad de participar activamente y contribuir al programa de Título I.
♦ Boletines de noticias mensuales, sugerencias de cómo se puede trabajar con su niño(a), una lista de buenos libros para leer con su niño, y de otra información se mandará periódicamente a la casa para entrenar a los padres para ayudar a su niño(a) a tener éxito en la escuela.
♦ Conferencias de Padre-Maestro serán programadas dos veces al año, Otoño y Primavera. Los maestros estarán disponibles para revisar el progreso de su niño(a) y contestar cualquier pregunta referente a su hijo(a) que usted pueda tener. Se le anima a los padres a hacer citas con las maestras durante el resto del año.
♦ Se le ofrecerá a los padres entrenamiento en Parent Portal y sobre el Plan de Estudio de su niño
♦ En la primavera se dará una encuesta a los padres, en la cual tendrán la oportunidad de expresar su impresión referente al Amplio Programa de Título I. Estamos interesados en sus recomendaciones y sugerencias, con las que usted nos puede ayudar a mejorar el programa.
♦ En la primavera de cada año, es celebrada una reunión anual de revisión del Amplio Programa de Título I. Los padres son bienvenidos a participar. Los resultados de la encuesta de padres, además de las sugerencias de los maestros son considerados para la planeación del próximo año escolar. Los resultados de la reunión de revisión anual serán compartidos con los padres en la reunión anual del otoño.
♦ Queremos invitarle a llamar a la escuela o al maestro de su niño(a) en cualquier momento durante el año escolar para preguntar cualquier pregunta referente a su niño(a) o programar una conferencia con el/la maestra. Es nuestra esperanza que sus niños(as) tengan una maravillosa experiencia educativa en Coulwood S.T.E.M. Academy.
