Literacy Picnic Friday, August 26, 2016 your child's lunch time

A great opportunity for you to enjoy lunch with your dhild(ren)! Each child receives a free book to take home and families will receive reading ideas!

A Night at the Museum Thursday, September 8, 2016 4:30-7:30 pm

Explore the totally interactive Dinosaur Revolution Maze offering families a fun, hands-on way to explore the fascinating world of dinosaurs. Themed activities are designed to reveal facts and unravel mysteries about the 150 million years that dinosaurs ruled the earth! Get up close and personal with skulls, rocks, minerals, and fossils from around the globe while the Planetarium will feature an out of this world experience. FREE admission, free book for each family, and the first 75 students to enter the MYCO will receive a FREE safari hat.

Math Carnival is in Town! Tuesday, October 4, 2016 5:30 pm

A great night of fun is planned to learn a variety of math games to build number sense. Families will attend grade level specific activities and take home a packet of games with materials to use at home. Parents will also learn what Title I is and what it provides for the school.

Pastries with the Principal Tuesday, October 11,2016 8:00 am

Come enjoy refreshments with the principal, assistant principal and Title I Parent/Teacher specialists! They want to know YOUR ideas about getting families more involved in Oakdale Elementary activities. You will also learn ways YOU can make Oakdale the best school ever!

Mind in the Making Thursday, January 19, 2017 6:00 pm

Parents of 4K, 5K and 1st grade parents, this is just for you! All of our children need 7 essential skills to be successful. Two skills, Focus and Self Control and Perspective Taking, will be discussed and demonstrated using a variety of literature. You will go home with simple strategies to help your child be successful! Free book to each family.

Safari Reading Thursday, March 30, 2017 6:00pm

Everyone enjoys a safari! Come travel to four different areas, and take home ideas to help your child read fiction and nonfiction! Children will also design a safari mask to take home as well as a free book!

Lunch and Learn: Splash into Summer Fun! Friday, May 26, 2017 11:00 am

Receive FREE materials, activities, and ideas to make reading and math fun during the summer! Parents will meet from 11-11:30 am; children will join their parents for lunch from 11:30-12:00 noon.
