Science Internship Program

To the Internship Supervisor:

Prior to beginning the internship and working in conjunction with the student intern that you will be supervising, please prepare bi-weekly work plans (corresponding to each NWIC pay period over the course of the internship period) for the internship period to include the information indicated below (see page 2 of this document). Send these work plans to the Science Internship Coordinator prior to beginning the internship.

This plan should include reference, where applicable, to assessment materials and associated rubrics and grading methods as indicated in the project description.

Intern attendance or participation at conferences, workshops, etc. should be included in the work plan.

Finally, the Internship Supervisor should inform the Intern about how to report expected absences or other limitations that may impact successful completion of the internship.

Please Note: If the intern is also enrolled in an NESC course for internship credit (NESC 197, 297, 397 or 497), the supervisor should report the recommended grade to the Science Internship Coordinator prior to the end of the quarter to allow this to be reported on that date to NWIC Enrollment Services by the Science Internship Coordinator, who is listed as the Instructor of Record for those courses.
