CHITTAGONG
SALE NO.45 – 17TH MARCH 2009
CTC LEAF: 5,291packages, 10 packages of new season and 15 packages of old season on offer met with a stronger demand at dearer rates.
BROKENS/FANNINGS: The bulk of the teas comprised of end of season varieties and these met with a strong demand and sold at dearer rates particularly the few clean teas available which realised attractive prices ranging from Tk.130/- to Tk.145/-.
CTC DUST: 1,818 packages on offer met with a good demand but mostly at dearer rates. End of season poor liquoring varieties were slightly easier. Internal market lent good support.
COMMENTS: This was the Final sale of the season which ended on a strong note with all teas selling at satisfactory rates. The main operators were the Loose tea buyers but there was strong interest from the Blenders for the clean varieties. There was no Export enquiry.
Dusts sold well at mostly dearer rates.
This was a good season for Bangladesh tea in terms of auction price realisation and it is gratifying to note that virtually all teas offered in the auctions have been sold with hardly any carry over for the next season.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our esteemed clients for their support in making Chittagong Auctions such a vibrant centre
