Job Description
Nursery Deputy Manager
To keep within the ethos of the Jewish religion
to help make sure nursery is ALWAYS ready for OFSTED inspection
To help keep all policies updated
To be the SENCO working with Area Senco and reporting to the Manager
Co-ordinator between staff and Manager
to stand in for Manager when she is away from Nursery.
to take register when Manager is not there
to take any kind of monies and to record who has given it and what it is for, and to hand monies to accounts department if Manger is away for a long time.
to make sure all staff hand appraisals to Manager
helping children with their learning, play, educational and social development;
helping children to work towards the early learning goals through the EYFS
Interacting and supporting children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning.
Working closely in partnership with parents
Working with other staff to plan and co-ordinate work.
Sharing knowledge gained with other staff and parents.
Planning the indoor and outdoor environment to provide a positive context for learning and teaching
Planning with staff experiences and activities that are challenging but achievable.
record keeping;
Making and maintaining learning materials and resources.
To develop relationships with children, their parents and other members of staff
To create and maintain a warm, caring, stimulation environment that together with encouragement will ensure the development of each child
feeding, washing and cleaning young children;
Recognise and meet, at all times, the needs of each child and their family as individuals
Work as part of a team, liaising with other professionals as required
Assist in the selection, and ensure the maintenance of, toys and equipment
To write observations on children and connect these with the EYFS and use the TAPESTRY as our observation tool.
to write transition reports for every child goes on to another nursery/school.
To keep nursery information confidential
Attending in-service training
Attending courses through Barnet.
Any other duties, from time to time, may be required
Person Specification
With experience of setting up and running nurseries
Experience of looking after and managingspecial needs children
Good knowledge of OFSTED
Good knowledge of Barnet Council
Detailed knowledge all necessary nursery policies
Childcare management courses
Good parent communication skills.
