Nouvelle Vague, the group that conquered the world, performing at Jazz in the Park
Nouvelle Vague, the famous group of musicians that conquered the audience with bossa-nova rhythms, will perform at Jazz in the Park, Saturday, June 30th, in the Central Park in Cluj.
The band comes with an unexpected and refined interpretation of new wave, punk and post punk songs from emblematic bands such as Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Sex Pistols, Talk Talk, Robert Palmer, The Sisters of Mercy, Killing Joke, The Clash, Billy Idol, New Order, The Smiths and The Cure. The Nouvele Vague concert is powered by Staropramen, the festival’s main partner for the fourth consecutive year.
Passed through an inspired bossa nova filter, the Nouvelle Vague tunes became “instant hits’’ and found their way into club playlists worldwide, during the last 14 years. The band has fully capitalized on the sensitivity and versatility of several famous vocalists, such as Vanessa Paradis, Phoebe Kildeer, Camille, Nadeah, Mélanie Pain, Liset Alea or Helena Noguerra.
The 5 edited disks brought the band over one million sold units, world tours and concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles or Olympia in Paris.
The story of Nouvelle Vague continues with the most recent album, I Could Be Happy, a perfect opportunity to listen to the band live, on June 30th, at Jazz in the Park, in the Central Park, where they will perform their new songs.
The entrance to the concert is free, based on non-mandatory tickets, which can be purchased from and the networks Bilete.ro, Eventim and BiletMaster. The same platforms can be used to buy tickets to the concerts at the Hungarian Opera and the Art Museum.
The concerts will take place in the Central Park, the Someș River bank, the Hungarian Opera and the courtyard of the Art Museum. The concerts in the park and on the river bank have free access, based on non-mandatory tickets, and for the concerts at the museum and the opera, tickets and passes are available for purchase. Discounted tickets and passes can be purchased until May 30th.
The Jazz in the Park 2018 line-up includes outstanding names of the international and Romanian music scene. Juan de Marcos Afro Cuban All Stars, Richard Bona, Nik Bartsch’s Ronin, Soweto Kinch, Alfa Mist, Sona Jobarteh, Bill Laurance, The Herbaliser, Forq, Fanfare Ciocârlia, Gallowstreet, Superpoze, Koffie and many more are among the confirmed bands.
