These position carries with it:

  • 2 permanent units and 0.1 release
  • the possibility of a further unit for school wide responsibility and up to 0.1 additional release.

Appointments will be made on the following basis:

● have had recent, successful teaching experience, ideally at the levels aligned with these positions
● have the necessary passion, energy, resilience and optimism for teaching diverse learners
● be capable in the core- able to provide challenging, student centred literacy and numeracy programmes
● be confident and able to integrate e-learning within various learning situations
● have an ability to teach using student inquiry and encourage student ownership of learning
● have strong assessment as learning capability and the ability to make evidence-informed decisions
● have experience working collaboratively or a willingness to teach collaboratively
● have strong beliefs or experience in developing self directed learners, and student agency
● be reflective on their own teaching practice to improve learning outcomes for students (Teaching as Inquiry) and demonstrate a commitment to personal ongoing learning and professional development
● be able to form strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of students, staff, whanau and community (an understanding of IY and Restorative practices would be helpful)
● Contribute to the wider life of the school- sporting, cultural or other activities
● Have recent successful Team Leadership experience
● Will have experience meeting the expectations of the LCL job description.
