This event is open to all Ras Al Hamra Club Members who hold a Catamaran Helm’s ticket or who can adequately prove to the Race Committee that they have sufficient experience and knowledge to compete.
This series of races will be subject to the rotating of club boats for each race between teams. During the registration period on the 1st September 2005; registered teams will be advised of their boat allocation per race.
Should a boat become unavailable due to damage by a team, the guilty party will forfeit their right to their boat selection to the innocent party(s).
Should a boat become unavailable due to a non contact failure, every effort will be made to provide a replacement boat, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Boat allocation has been derived from the registered helm of each team’s known personal handicap and distributed in groups to balance the teams into similar fleets. The organisers and race committee decision is final in this regard.
The top 10 teams will pre-qualify for the Championship. Teams placed 11th & 12th in this event will be nominated as first and second reserve respectively.
For those teams that do not make the final cut of 12 places for the Championship, the Race Committee would appreciate if they could have advance notice of offers to be the OOD / Race assistant(s) for the Championship weekend when booking their team slot.
Open Championship:
Prequalification results will be published by 3rd September 2005. The qualified teams will select their own club boat based on their finishing position from the qualifying round, i.e. first place has first choice, second place has second choice etc. The reserve teams will inherit the team’s boat that they replace. Teams will be contacted in this sequence and the boats allocated accordingly. Boats allocated in this manner will remain as selected by each team for all races of the Championship. Access to the boats will be allowed from 4th September 2005.
