BROOKSIDE GIRLS’ATHLETIC RULES AND REGULATIONS

WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE YOU AS A PART OF THE GIRLS’ ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT BROOKSIDE. IN ORDER FOR THIS PROGRAM AND YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL, OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAM HAS RULES AND REGULATIONS TO FOLLOW.

  1. DRESS CODE
  2. You will purchase athletic workout clothes from the Girls Athletic Dept.

The cost is $28. You must wear them to class every athletic period.

Workout shoes, for your sport, are required and they must be worn at all

times.

  1. Your hair is required to be “out-of the way” or pulled back/up at all times.
  2. If you make a team, you also will be issued uniforms and game day shirt and you are responsible for their upkeep and if you lose or damage them, you must pay for them.
  3. You must have an “off-season” tennis shoe that can be worn outside. This shoe can’t be what you wear to your “sport” practices or games.
  1. DRESSING OUT
  2. You will dress out every class day. (Unless notified by your teacher). If you forget your clothes, you must get borrowed clothes and you will not receive full credit for that day and there will be conditioning consequences

which will occur and for each time/9weeks…we add to the consequences. If you were to lose your “borrowed” clothes; there is a replacement cost of $8. for each item.

  1. Only a doctor’s note will excuse you from dressing out. You will then be assigned written work or help your coach with practice.
  2. If you do not feel well, work-outs missed will be made up.
  1. LOCKERS AND LOCKER ROOM ETIQUETTE
  2. You will have your own locker and be given a lock to use for the year. If you lose or destroy anything, you will be held responsible. Locks are $8. to replace.
  3. DO NOT SHARE LOCKERS. WE HAVE PLENTY.
  4. Keep your locker and locker room clean, bug free and clean smelling.
  5. Absolutely NO eating in the locker room.
  6. NOCell Phones and/or Electronic Devices are allowed to be ONin thelocker areas and restroom. Devices will be taken up and you will be responsible to retrieve it from the Student Center.
  7. Lock everything up and do not give your combination to anyone. We arenot responsible for anything left out or unlocked.
  8. If you continue to leave things unlocked or not keeping your area clean and organized;then we will move you to the open area lockers.
  1. MEMBER OF TEAMS AND/OR ATHLETICS
  2. Athletes are expected to uphold high standards at all times and reflect good sportsmanship.
  3. Tardies to class or practice, N’s or U’s in conduct and d-halls will have consequences such as running, towels, etc. Unsportsmanlike conduct, In-school suspension, negative progress reports and failing grades will also have consequences such as extra running, loss of playing time and/or not being able to participate in a meet or game, etc.
  4. Any other behavior unbecoming to an athlete, whether on or off campus, will also result in disciplinary action.
  5. NO PASS, NO PLAY! YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN GAMES, MATCHES, OR MEETS FOR A THREE WEEK MINIMUM. YOU MAY STILL PRACTICE. KEEP YOUR GRADE 70 OR ABOVE. ACADEMICS COME FIRST.

  1. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONS
  2. For safety reasons, no jewelry will be allowed. Conduct marks will be deducted for this and there will be conditioning consequences for each

offense /9weeks.

  1. Grading may be done through written tests, skill tests, evaluation of participation, dressing out, exercise, and the sport you participate.
  2. Chewing gum is not allowed. Conduct points will be deducted as well as conditioning consequences for each offense.
  3. Please follow the dress code for Brookside students when attending classes or attending school functions. REMEMBER, YOU ARE ONE OF BROOKSIDE’S FINEST AND ARE EXPECTED TO ACT AND DRESS ACCORDINGLY.

Both the parent/guardian and student need to have read the Athletic Expectations of our Athletes during each school day. Please return with signature of parent/guardian and athlete so it can be filed for the year.
