Selecting a College

College-bound students should consider many factors when they’re researching colleges. We’ve compiled some tips to help your students in your college search:

·  Identify the “environment” that best matches your personality. Are you an urban dweller thirsting to wake up in a city that never sleeps, or are you looking for a quiet place to enjoy life at a slower pace?

·  Compare small colleges to large universities. Small colleges offer smaller classes, hands-on learning opportunities, individually designed majors, and more personal attention. Larger colleges and universities offer a greater variety of majors and courses, a wide range of academic and social opportunities, and well-stocked libraries.

·  Other factors to consider:

*Affiliation (public, private, independent, church-affiliated)

*Location (urban, rural, in-state/out-of-state)

*Student body (coed, minority representation)

*Academic environment (majors offered, student-to-faculty ratio, facilities, etc.)

Act Six Scholarship is a full need scholarship for students interested in attending Whitworth or Gonzaga. The scholarship deadline is October 27, so get started with your application TODAY! www.actsix.org
