PPAC GPA Worksheet Instructions

Note: Use the Sample GPA Worksheet to avoid mistakes.

  1. Have official transcripts showing courses taken at schools other than Auburn mailed directly to PPAC from their records offices. Order your own copies to use in completing the PPAC GPA Worksheet since these courses should be listed exactly as shown on the transcripts where the courses were taken.
  2. Print an unofficial copy of your Auburn University transcript and use it to complete the GPA worksheet.
  3. Use MS Excel and format the worksheet (landscape orientation) so it prints on one page.
  1. List all courses including those from which you withdrew, repeated or failed courses, gapped courses, dual enrollment courses, junior college courses or those taken abroad.
  2. List advanced placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses as shown on your Auburn University transcript and those with grades of S, U, P, W, WF, Audit, Exempt, etc., at the top of the worksheet. Put the course ID, course title, the grade and the hours earned.
  3. In the next section, list math and science courses in chronological order including biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics (BCPM) courses on the left side of the worksheet, regardless of where they were completed. Classify courses according to the primary content of the course. Include course prefixes and numbers, shortened course titles, grades, quality hours and quality points.
  4. List All Othercourses on the right side of the worksheet. Include course prefixes and numbers, shortened course titles, grades, quality hours and quality points.
  5. If you gapped a course, list the grade shown on the transcript (XD) and include the hours and points you would have earned without using the gap.
  6. Add hours and points for BCPM courses; divide total points by total hours to calculate the BCPM GPA. Round to 2 decimal places. Do the same for the All Other GPA.
  7. Calculate a Total GPA.
  8. List postbaccalaureate courses, grades, and GPA’s below the undergraduate courses IF you have taken any. Calculate a postbaccalaureate GPA using those hours and points.
  9. Add undergraduate and postbaccalaureate hours and points. Divide points by hours to calculate the cumulative undergraduate GPA.
  10. List graduate courses, grades, and GPA’s below the postbaccalaureate courses IF you have taken any. Divide points by hours to calculate the graduate GPA.
  11. Save a copy of the worksheet for corrections or additions.
  12. Compare it to the sample worksheet before printing and submitting it in your PPAC folder.
