Swim To Safety!

Situation: Your ship sunk in the ocean at night. Now you are in the water. You have to swim to an island to survive! However, you can’t see the island because it’s very dark. You will have to listen to your teacher in order to swim in the correct direction.

Instructions:

·  The grid below is the ocean. The numbers and letters next to the grid tell you where you are in the ocean.

·  First, start at E10.

·  Next, the teacher will tell you to swim up, down, left or right by saying the words “arrive”, “alive”, “light” or “right”. Listen carefully each time the teacher says a word and then swim one square in that direction.

·  At the end, tell the teacher where you are by giving your final coordinates (e.g. 16B). The teacher will tell you if you are on the island or not. If you are on the island, you survived. If not, you are dead.
