Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015

I.  CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL

Mr. Joseph McGuire called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

II.  FLAG SALUTE AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mr. Joseph McGuire led all those present in a salute to the flag.

III.  PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT BY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

Adequate notice of this meeting has been emailed to the municipal clerk and the Rockleigh School Business Administrator, and was also published in The Record on January 8, 2015.

IV.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES

On a motion by Mr. Bargna and seconded by Mrs. Bargisen, the Northvale Board of Education approved the following Northvale Public School District minutes:

Mr. Pinajian thanked PTO for the planter and sign.

1.  To accept the resignation of Mrs. Christine McNeil, a full time special education aide, effective August 8, 2015. [click]

2.  To accept the resignation of Ms. Samantha Russo, part-time special education aide effective August 17, 2015.

3.  To hire Mrs. Celeste Cohen as a full-time special education aide for the 2015-2016 school year.

4.  To hire Ms. Paula Tate as a part-time special education aide for the 2015-2016.

5.  To add the following to our 2015-2016 substitute list.

9.  The New Jersey Department of Education School Self-Assessment HIB Grades State mandated report for the 2014-2015 school year. [click]

10.  The Superintendent’s Merit Goals for the 2015-2016 school year.

11.  Approve the continuation of the Annual Contract for the Bergen County Special Services School District Home/Hospital Program for the 2015-2016 school year.

12.  Mrs. Nadine McGrath’s attendance at the NJ IDA Fall Dyslexia Conference in Somerset, NJ.

VII  BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

1. General Fund warrants: August Bill List $406,890.47

August Payroll $ 94,929.71

2. Report of the Board Secretary [click] and Report of the Treasurer [click] for the month ending June, 2015; and

Further, that in compliance with NJAC 6A: 23-2.11(c) 4, the Northvale School District Board of Education certifies that no major account or fund has been over-expended and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

3. Transfer of funds between budgetary line items for June, 2015 in compliance with NJ S-1701 Regulations (10% cap) [click]

4. Payment application #2 from Macchione Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $112,560.50 for work completed to date with parking lot & walkway improvements.

5. Continued use of Cream-O-Land Dairies as the school milk provider for the 2015-2016 school year. The cost to students will remain at 25 cents per half pint.

6. Participation in the Northern Valley Region III Transportation Program for the 2015-2016 school year

7. Valley Program tuition payment from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016 for Eight (8) students, $71,092 each, and 1:1 Aide $44,880 for one (1) student, at a total cost of $613,616.

8 SLICE Program tuition payment from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016 for Four (4) students, $9,468 each, at a total cost of $37,872.

9. Tuition payment for 2015 Summer K-8 Program for Five (5) students, $887 each, at a total cost of $4,435.

10. Tuition payment for 2015 Summer SLICE Program for Four (4) students at a total cost of $3,000.

11. Tuition payment for (1) one student attending Brownstone School for the 2015-2016 school year at a cost of $56,880.
