Northrop Grumman – Safe Access File Exchange Help

This application will allow a user to send a file to another person with an e-mail address.

2.Package Submission: A Walkthrough

Once the user has successfully submitted a package using the above screen, he or she will receive an e-mail to confirm that the package originated from that user. The e-mail will contain the standard package information, but will also contain a link for a new confirmation process.

Please do not reply via e-mail to this message. It was automatically generated from an unattended mailbox.
Did you upload a file using NG SAFE? Such a request was made using your email address. For security reasons, your confirmation is needed to ensure you initiated this transaction. If you did not recently use NG Safe, please contact the CSOC as explained below.
Until you confirm the authenticity of this request, no further action will be taken. After the deletion date below, the uploaded file(s) will be deleted from NG SAFE and a new transaction will need to be initiated.
To complete the process, follow these steps:
1. Click this link: Northrop Grumman SAFE Submission Approval
2. Enter the password provided below.
3. Select Approve or Reject
Note: If necessary, you can copy and paste the following URL into your browser

Password: entd^M*oM86BeYD6

Figure 2 - Confirmation E-Mail

In the above e-mail snippet, the originator will see a link that he or she can click to confirm the package. The email also contains an explanation that until the package is confirmed, the recipients WILL NOT receive notification that there is a package to download.

Once the confirmation link is clicked, the user will be taken to a confirmation screen. If the package has previously been approved or rejected, NG Safe will not allow for an amended decision.

Figure 3 - Package Already Approved or Rejected

However, if a package needs approval or rejection, the following screen will be displayed:

Note: The screen shot below has been sanitized. All names and e-mail addresses have been removed. When this screen is used by someone approving/rejecting a package, their information will be displayed.

Figure 4 - Approval Screen

To either approve or reject the package, a password will have to be entered. This is the password shown in Figure 2. Validation is in place to ensure that the correct value is entered into the password (the form will not submit if the password is empty or does not match the desired value).

If approval is selected, the user will see the following message in the web browser:

Figure 5 - Approval Given

When this happens, e-mails will be generated to the recipients and originator indicating that the package is available for download.

If reject is selected, the user will see the following message in the web browser:

Figure 6 - Rejection Given

When this happens, no e-mails will be generated and the recipients will not be notified that the package was created. If the originator wishes for the recipients to receive the package, he or she will have to upload the files into a new package.

3.Downloading Files

Once the user has successfully confirmed the package, a notification e-mail will be sent to each recipient. The e-mail will look similar to the screen shot below. (Note: the image has been sanitized with package specific information removed and replaced with “XXXXX”).

Figure 7 - Generated Recipient E-Mail

Once the recipient clicks on the link in step 1 (or the note), he or she will be taken to a screen where the password (from above) will have to be entered (it may be a good idea to copy/paste the password as it is case sensitive).

Figure 8 - Download Confirmation Screen

Once the password is entered, the user will see a page that lists the files that are available to download.

Click the ‘Download’ button by the appropriate file and choose a location to save it on your computer.

Once the file is downloaded, a notification of download will be sent to the originator.
